I'd put it at 3. Big Lebowski was very overrated IMO.
If it weren't for the ending No country would be #1 but I don't like Brolin dying off camera and I hate movies that let you decide what happens next. Fvckin tell me the story. - DirtyDan

If you thought that Brolin dying offscreen was important to the story then you missed the point of the movie.

I’ve seen Millers Crossing many times. That, No Country, and Fargo are my top three. But they’ve made so many other great films I have a problem ranking them. They’ll shuffle around depending on my mood.

Of course he escaped. He got into the car accident. Bell retired. - Powerslave
He's seen limping away all bloody, its really up to your own interpretation which is the worst. I WANT THE WHOLE DAMN STORY. I didn't make this movie up why should I have to decide what comes next.

I think the Sopranos ending is the Rohr shack test with this kind of stuff. You either want to have the movie linger on with you afterwards while continuing to mull it over and enjoying it after it ended or it was somehow more satisfying seeing Tony shot.
Either way, the story (and more importantly, the essence of the story) was told. If you're watching Coen Bros movie hoping that they spell it all out for you like they do in comic book movies you are missing the genius of their art.
