Someone asked about a NHL Draft Value Chart...
Here are a couple links

http://donttellmeabouthea...m/p/draft-pick-value.html

https://theathletic.com/1...ue-value-of-a-draft-pick/

Top 5 picks are generally never traded, which to me means in order to be successful in bucking this trend, your team would need to significantly overpay.

Therefore, moving up into say the 2nd spot would likely cost the Sabres
-their 1st
-VGK's 1st
- probably a Prospect

So, would you
A) Consider paying the cost to move into 2nd
A1) if yes, who is your Prospect
A2)who are you taking at 2
B) Move into another Slot
B1) what is the Spot and your proposed Trade Assets
B2) who is your selection

- IonSabres

Simon Nemec.

However, I could completely understand Logan Cooley as well.

With that being said, I think the argument is moot as those picks are never traded. Only hope would be the lotto

I don't follow prospects but i didn't think it was worth an overpayment to move up this year? put more time in scouting and pick the right guy

I think there is a pretty solid tier of top 5 players.

Yet, the order in which teams may have those 5 players may differ.

So the Sabres could realistically move to pick 5 or 6 and still get a guy they may have taken at 2.

Was going to say we'd have to get to top4. Out of curiosity, you have Wright, Nemec, Cooley, Slaf, I assume Jiri is your 5th?

Either way, I agree with not trading up, even if it could be done that will cost 9+16+something and 16 is looking real good right now. At least one of Kasper, Lambert, McGroarty or Gauthier will be there.

Tier 1:

Wright, Nemec, Cooley, Slafkovsky, Jiricek..

Tier 2:

Savoie, Nazar, Kemell, Lekkerimaki, Lambert

Tier 3:

Gauthier, Geekie, Kaspar. Pick your flavour of the group of d-men in that range and then the rest of that crop of NTDP players.

What would it take to move from 30 to 25?

If Florida goes deep might be a good idea to get up around there for Chesley

Id rather just move 30 for a player that can make an impact now.

Id like to think that there are going to be several good players available due to cap purposes.

late 1st and a 2023 2nd in a cap world should be able to get you something very nice.

Minnesota traded 22 and 90 to get up to 20. So you are probably looking at late second/early third to get up to 25 from 30.
