Nobody does but hearing Lameriello say the team needed a new voice makes you think trotz lost the room. Makes sense the players seemed checked out but this roster needs some help more then we needed a coaching change imo.

There's about 100 teams that would/should hop on Trotz immediately. Winnipeg, Philly, Chicago, NJ, Toronto (if they fire Keefe), Vegas all come to mind right off the top of my head

When Snow got fired four years ago, and we soon thereafter lost our star player to free agency, I expected a complete tear down and rebuild. However, Lou made a few roster tweaks and Barry guided the team to 3 straight good to very good seasons. Heck, we hadn't made deep runs in the playoffs in consecutive years since the dynasty years. As has already been said, this season was a bad one for reasons mostly beyond the control of the coach. So I am as shocked as anyone by this. I don't know what other coach could have had this much success with so much mediocre talent.

But, as you also reminded, this is consistent with Lou's history. I think it was Larry Robinson who coached the Devils through a very successful regular season, only to be fired and replaced by Lou himself, just as the playoffs began.

Yeah pretty much. Realistically EVERY team will have him on their radar most likely besides us.

Regardless of your thoughts on trotz this lineup was old and slow and not high on speed and talent. Lou needs to bring players in and address the situation

I don’t understand the whole scenario actually.
I certainly think with the success the team has seen under Lou and Trotz in the past and the bumps in this season you can’t blame the coach or the GM.

There has to be more to this. Has to be. Maybe they talked extension because of the potential lame duck status. Maybe guys like Barzal voiced an opinion. Maybe Lou didn’t like the treatment of Wahlstrom. It’s all speculation.

When it boils down to it, it makes no sense to me at all.
