You say I miss things. When you and I talk, you manage to create a narrative that really doesn't speak to what I say. Almost as if you have pre planned an answer to what I will say without actually reading it. - manvanfan
I disagree, should we go see a counsellor? |

Care to enlighten us on which team is currently employing either person in that capacity? Once again, thanks for playing.

No, it's in disagreement with your stats. 5 players are responsible for zone exits, not 1 or 2. - Load Management
Why aren't all defensemen equal in zone exits then? |

We need relative zone exit stats. Hockey cannot survive without it. - golfingsince
I knew when Rutherford mentioned poor exits at the presser that someone was going to take it, very wrongly, as an indictment of our D.
The bonus here is it was Mini. The double bonus is it caught him up cherry picking stats for a piss poor hypothesis. I love it. |

Out of 13 first and second round picks in Benning's era. 3 defenders were drafted. - manvanfan

All teams aren't equal. All lines aren't equal. All matchups aren't equal. Shall I continue? |

Just saw this on Twitter, why is this?
“It is absolutely amazing to me that Jett Woo, supposedly the best right-handed defenceman prospect in the #Canucks system, spent both games of the Abbotsford Canucks’ brief playoffs — and most of the latter half of the regular season — as a fourth-line forward.
Development!” - LeftCoaster

2 defenders on the same team, on the same pairing with the same forward groups.
Still somehow aren't perfectly equal.
Why is that?

I didn't take it wrongly. I went to go see how bad. It wasn't really anything that I hadn't already seen.
I also didn't "cherry pick". I just pointed out a few stats that some in here would go out of their way to argue about because they have thought otherwise.
Congrats on being one of the suckers. |

I don't think our D is blameless but it certainly doesn't all fall on them. |

I'm not gonna talk in circles with you. I'll give an example then move on.
When Dermott got here we played a game against the Coyotes. He was still getting used to things system and player wise. While defending a lane, which he does very well, he causes a turn over in the defensive zone at the top of the circles. The puck was on his stick and bam, he transitions up the center of the ice past his blue line. Looks for an outlet on either side, none. Skates into the trap turns it over and they turn it back and score.
I thought, wow, that's how much faster the wingers are on the Leafs. He was on offense and our guys are still figuring it out. He had zero puck support, nobody backing him and no outlets. That's what zone exits are about. |
