It is absolutely amazing to me that Jett Woo, supposedly the best right-handed defenceman prospect in the #Canucks system, spent both games of the Abbotsford Canucks’ brief playoffs — and most of the latter half of the regular season — as a fourth-line forward.
Development!

My father has a couple of apple trees, you need to be careful going outside at night. |

I knew when Rutherford mentioned poor exits at the presser that someone was going to take it, very wrongly, as an indictment of our D.
The bonus here is it was Mini. The double bonus is it caught him up cherry picking stats for a piss poor hypothesis. I love it. - Load Management
I took it as JR wants to see staff & players improve break outs. Whether systems or F support idk. Do fans still wonder if Bones is too small or would he help out in a big way? Easier to find him a partner that is cheap & a fit imo. |

I'm not gonna talk in circles with you. I'll give an example then move on.
When Dermott got here we played a game against the Coyotes. He was still getting used to things system and player wise. While defending a lane, which he does very well, he causes a turn over in the defensive zone at the top of the circles. The puck was on his stick and bam, he transitions up the center of the ice past his blue line. Looks for an outlet on either side, none. Skates into the trap turns it over and they turn it back and score.
I thought, wow, that's how much faster the wingers are on the Leafs. He was on offense and our guys are still figuring it out. He had zero puck support, nobody backing him and no outlets. That's what zone exits are about. - Load Management

Why exactly do I need an "example" of a zone exit? I know what zone exits are. I know what you were trying to imply. I was well past that. Before this conversation started I was well past what you just told me.
You are talking about playing as a 5 man unit. Unfortunately all you did was tell me that Dermott has a low hockey IQ. I already knew that btw. - manvanfan
Wrongo. Dermott in transition had no support. Slowing down & going back & D to D passing allows the forecheck to reset. Countering quick allows offence on the rush to generate higher danger chances. |

Shutout!!

Played a great game. Love his impression of a soccer player drawing that penalty for the 1st goal.
Refs will probably let him get run over after reviewing his flop. |
