That ice looked worse than 90% of the ice I play beer league on

It definitely may have been an issue.

There were puddles out there at the beginning of whatever overtime period that was. Puck was bouncing all over the place and guys were falling over left and right. It was definitely in terrible shape.

Yeah I was going to say... the NHLPA poll had MSG as having some of the best ice in the league and that looked (frank)ing terrible all night.

Dumoulin picking the puck up and trying to skate it out only to just trip over seemingly nothing and go flying was pretty funny though

if there is a game 7 it will probably be sunday afternoon May 15th, the day after a Billy Joel concert at MSG, so that should be good

I could swear that in years past MSG always got voted as having some of the worst ice in the league, but it's possible I'm wrong.

I don’t recall MSG ice ever being ballyhooed (big word of the day) by anyone lol it’s generally been in poop shape. I didn’t hear any specific complaints from players tho, were there any?

I feel like some of the older NHLPA player polls used to have guys vote on the best ice in the league and the worst ice. I could swear that I remember MSG being in the top 5 worst for a few years. But again, entirely possible I'm wrong on this one. It would make sense given all the events that go on there though.

Player poll had it 6th best in the league, interestingly enough.

I remember this too, but don't recall how long ago it was. Also saw what BINGO posted as it being one of the best, so not sure if something changed semi recently, but it sure looked like poop last night.

It had to be the atmosphere causing the arena to heat up a bit. Both teams need good ice I’m going to contribute it to nerves. Which is weird because I thought the least nervous players was the kid line. They just couldn’t get a legit goal. The rest of the group, ie- Trouba, Bread and Zib (the vets) looked hella nervous a lot of the game.

Not a Rangers fan.

The hit by Lingren shouldn't have been a penalty at all IMO.

Kakko driving the net wasn't goaltender interference as his defender pushed him into the goalie (IMO).

I never even screamed when it went in. I knew it wasn’t counting once it happen. Wether it’s the right call or not is irrelevant it’s meant to be. Now if that was Crosby, Ovie, Oreilly, name any other player in the sport and it’s a good goal. And that’s what really sucks being a ranger fan. We just don’t get the call to go our way, virtually ever

Come onnnnnn

You realize that fans of every single NHL team feel that their team is unfairly targeted by refs, right?

Absolutely 110% agree. That being said. (frank) the treatment of the Pens in particular. Not just in games against the rangers. End of rant

I also remember the Garden ice being known as poor. Must have been addressed when they renovated the building.

It was awhile back. Obviously MSG/Rangers could have put some serious work into the refrigeration system and improved it since then. But yeah, last night was ugly and it wasn't even that warm out yesterday. Although maybe I'm wrong because I just got back from Tampa and everything feels cold
