Marino really deserves a lot of credit. After an abysmal start he really pulled together a great game. The Pens need him to be more involved offensively like he was last night.

I expect the Rangers to not come out the same way tomorrow. I think they come out composed and focused instead of running around like loonies, tiring themselves out.

Just have to hope Domingue has more in him.

If they want to keep wasting a roster spot with Reaves, I think the Penguins will happily take the couple hits he manages to throw.

He’s slow. Brings no physicality or skill and was the reason the Blueger line was regularly stuck in their own zone.

Long way to go feds! We will see who’s butt hurt in the end. One thing I do know if the pens win I will be one of the first ranger fans ( and there will be more) to come on here and congratulate the pens. Where will you be? Probably congratulating yourself.

Well he's a red wings fan so he's not gonna be butt hurt either way. He'll be butt hurt when they lose the draft lottery again lol

Nah wings only. This is just one of the better hockey threads on the internet and in case you haven’t noticed there isn’t a wings thread on this site.

Errey said it was a good goal too didn't he? lol
- j.boyd919

Up here in Canada on the Sportnet production for the game Elliott Friedman was 100% it should of been a goal...then he shifted to 50/50 and said he had a chance to view it more...Kelly Hrudey and Kevin Bieksa were definite no goals.

A Rangers fan comes to the Penguins thread, makes a lot of assumptions about me, you and Pens fans in general. Then wants credit for sportsmanship if the Penguins win the series????Am I missing something here????

Because we kind of get him now, are used to him and we're a fairly diverse (mostly) welcoming group here to begin with. He can definitely push peoples buttons with his dry-to-the-point-facts comments sometimes, need not look for more proof of that than your pudding, but most of us are kind of immune to that now.

He's made some other conflicting posts here the past week or so too. Came in one day to try and rub in our faces that our core is old and the Pens will be declining soon, rough years ahead...aka stuff everyone here already knew. For this he was labeled Captain Obvious and for that I was labeled salty hahaha

My favorite are the ones that call them "Cindy and Gena" but don't think they are trolls or haters. You cant see the forest from the trees I suppose.

A Florida vs Carolina conference finals would be a nightmare for them.

*would be a hell of a series from a talent standpoint though.

- SuperHenderson13

CAR vs Boston game one had the highest cable ratings of any game this year. A 20% increase over PIT vs NYI in 2019 (the last time the "regular" playoffs opened on tv)

But yeah it probably would be less than ideal.

Luckily the Panthers are a paper tiger and will continue their streak of not winning any playoff series' since 1996.

Don’t need to win the lotto when you have a good GM.

I take Seider and Raymond over Kakko and Lafreniere all day.

I found it odd that people tried to talk up Lafreniere as a "generational talent." He's obviously got talent, but he seems to be more of a Lecavalier ceiling player as opposed to a McDavid ceiling type.

seider is a stud thats for sure...hopefully he wont have a sophmore slump, but no reason to think he would. raymond had a great first half of the season and didnt produce nearly as much in the 2nd half, didnt watch many wings games so I am not sure what to attribute his fall off to.

then we have the pens who literally have no young promising prospects hahaha...but we have had a good run these last 15 years so no complaints here!

It would be nice if they had a play by play announcer who understands hockey

Wings just sucked in general 2nd half and probably some rookie wall there too for Raymond. Still had 24 points in the 2nd half.

Hype will do that. He falls somewhere between Drouin and Huberdeau imo.

I dont mind Mears. I hope they replace Errey this offseason. Im guessing Colby Armstrong would be in prime position to take over.

He is an interesting player. I think I'd rather have him than Kakko, and i certainly wouldnt have minded if the Penguins had won the lottery in 2020 to draft him.

We've only won the lottery twice, and we picked two good years to win.

Emily Kaplen did mention the contracts of Malkin and Letang last night durring ESPN's broadcast, but she said that they both were willing to take pay cuts but couldn't agree on price and term. I don't remember reading/hearing anywhere that Letang was willing to take a paycut. (And if he plays the same all series, he will be that much more outnof our price range) She also was trying to stir the pot by asking Guentzel what he thought of the hit on Rakell inbetween periods. Mess, a notorious Rags homer, said that the hit was high and was surprised the penalty was reduced, and it was definately goalie interference on the goal.that was disallowed.
