I also think Dryden Hunt returns to lineup, but it's not definite that its at the expense of Reaves...
- jimbro83

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the idea of taking Reaves out. Yes he is slower and doesn't have the best hands. But, we are talking about removing his 5 goals, -13, 279 hits and 21 giveaways for Hunt's 6 goals, -10, 153 hits and 20 giveaways.
Not sure that's the gamechanger we're looking for. I'd rather GG just keep a bug in Reaves ear about not letting up on the physical play for 60 min.

Hunt is gonna play, he's played all season long and they played 2 games in 1 the other night and lost the game, I think its a given he'll be in there

Hunt Rooney Goodrow is much tougher to play against than with Reaves in. Pitt doesn't have anyone that will " bully " NYR. a hit from Hunt is just as effective as one from Reaves. Hunt can do much better on cycle and make an offensive play once in a while.

Not sure we've seen evidence of that, despite his highlight reel goal.
Almost every time I've commented on seeing him do something really good, he follows it up with a gaff.

Like most, Hunt will up his game in playoffs, especially after being benched in Gm 1. Guaranteed!!!!

agree with this. Hunt's ability to possess the puck along the boards > reaves, can set-up plays.

Hunt is also much better skater and can do more in transition/back check

No worries. Gave me a laugh. An honest one, not the nervous ones I've been having for the last 36 hours.

With the pens third string goalie starting they must shoot from everywhere. Don’t get cute and turn the puck over. Pucks on net and have people in front

With a grand total of 75 giveaways in game 1, that bloody well better be a focal point!!!! That is an atrocious number, regardless of how many periods were player.

I watched this game having no skin in it.  All that flying around and hitting anything that moves while expending all your energy early on doesn't work against teams with the amount of veterans like the current Penguins have.  NY got out-smarted by an older/slower team and probably would have lost by multiple goals if it weren't for Shesterkin. If there were some sort of love affair between Bettman and Pittsburgh they wouldn't have gone from the most penalized team to the other end of the spectrum over the years (with the same core group).  With the exception of Malkin, Pitt is a smart veteran team that doesn't take many penalties.  This year even less since #71 was on the IR for 1/2 of the season.  Plain and simple...you don't need a foil hat to come to that conclusion.  Pitt can only consistently roll 1 line that produces.  They got production from all their lines the other night.  Probably because they don't retaliate and paced themselves.  If NY can play their game, realize the playoffs are different animal than the regular season and not run around like a bunch of meatheads for the first 25 minutes they'd easily outlast Pitt.

One positive is the Rangers got 2 games of playoff experience for the price of one. Hopefully they can make adjustments to get this series all evened up.

Not yet.
I planned a trip a few years ago slightly spur of the moment. Got tickets, booked a room in midtown and flights. Then the wife started freaking out about being swamped with report cards and said she wouldn't go. Told me to go with someone else, but the flight was in our names and really, for my 1st trip to NYC I wanted it to be with her. So, I scrapped it. Couldn't get out of the flight, so it cost me almost $300 to NOT go to my first home Rangers game.
