Luck might be finally going the Sabres way
Vegas, Florida
Those picks will be quite appealing - sbroads24
Not over yet with Florida
But looks like the Caps will at least give them a run for their $$$
If FLA does lose, I’m assuming their pick would be 24th then since they won the Pres Trophy
EDIT
Just saw the post about it being 28th?
Do they group the 1st two rounds together for some reason?
That’s weird |

Someday we will be in a best of 7 again.
Could be one year from now if this team actually tries - sbroads24
Just bc they aren’t gonna GMTM the team doesn’t mean they aren’t trying |

Jarmo has had 12 picks in the 1st since becoming the CBj GM
None of them has been a player from Finland-
not one
It almost seems like he’s avoiding Finish players on purpose - jdfitz77
I mean looking at the 2013-2014 drafts there were no Fins at all in the first round. He didn’t have picks due to the Duchene and Panarin deals.
He did famously pass on Jesse P though for Dubois in 2016 (in hindsight was the right move even though he asked to be dealt afterwords).
2018 he could have taken Kupari, but Kupari has yet to do anything in LA.
Other then that he didn’t pass on any other Finnish players notable. There were no Finnish players this past draft where he had two firsts |

Since 1987, there have been only 10 trades involving top 10 picks for NHL players.
The last one was 2013, ironically enough was also the Devils, they traded the 9th overall pick to Vancouver for Cory Schneider.
Vancouver selected Bo Horvat with the pick.
It’s rare to trade known top 10 picks, Fitzgerald may be open to it, but it takes two to tango and meet the asking price for the pick - Pegullaville
Wasn't disagreeing with you just wanted to post that Fitz said 5 would be in play for the right player.
Would Minn if it decides to trade Fiala approach Fitz if the trade included 5OA and NJ considered it worth it? |

Fiala is a pending RFA, if Reinhart only gets you a late first, and Buchnevich doesn’t even pull a first last offseason, I would think no.
Then again, market values change from year to year so who really knows. |

Well there’s still absolutely zero data at all to show he’s gonna draft a guy in the 1st just bc he’s Finish & projects in that range
He obviously could do that
But there’s no reason to assume he would |

Me either
But i guess there isn’t a whole lotta difference between 24 & 28 anyways
Oh well
Still rooting for the Caps |

You do realize in my original post that I said “could” right ?
I never assumed anything.
Jarmo will take who he wants to take, all I did was make a connection to Kemell whom is mocked to go in that range.
Nothing more, nothing less 👍🏻 |

Not trying to nitpick
But it seemed to me you were making a connection bc they were both Finish
And Jarmo has never drafted a Fin in the 1st
So i just don’t think that connection you seemed to make actually means anything |

Fitzgerald indicated he is willing to move 5OA... "Fitzgerald said he’d be open to using that pick to acquire a player “that we know and feel will help impact the results that we are looking for.” - Leninthebuff

This is a very interesting and telling post.
Strange considering it seems nhl players get traded more frequently than other sports? Guys play for multiple teams.
The nfl is completely different.
9 and 16 gets you 5 I would imagine?

No, he said he wanted a player. Sabres should be in the same boat as Jersey. |

I'm not really into the prospects, but building up Rochester for the future really makes sense.
Keeping and adding (3) 1st rounders fits gee golly gmKa.
All the 2nd rounders too. Next year
The amerks win is really underrated. This is huge for the franchise. Can't have running draughts.... Sabres next |

I wouldn't make that trade, and I really like Jiricek. I would move Florida's 1st in the right trade. But there's gonna be some good players available at 16. |

Our 2nd + 3rd would let them move up to #13. 3 higher 2nd's = #1 OA.
