Our 2nd + 3rd would let them move up to #13. 3 higher 2nd's = #1 OA.
- Lunaion

Don't know, didn't make the chart. Could be a old one. Schuckers chart is different than this one. So is Eric Tulsky's.

Since 1987, there have been only 10 trades involving top 10 picks for NHL players.

The last one was 2013, ironically enough was also the Devils, they traded the 9th overall pick to Vancouver for Cory Schneider.

Vancouver selected Bo Horvat with the pick.

It’s rare to trade known top 10 picks, Fitzgerald may be open to it, but it takes two to tango and meet the asking price for the pick

- Pegullaville

We'd see way more movement on picks if the draft age were moved up to 19 because it would be easier to see who is actually worth trading up for.

It would also solve the major junior/AHL transfer "problem."

The NHL had a chance to address it and move the draft age during the pandemic but now it'll probably never happen

Would the NHLPA agree?

No one would. It would be a complete cluster(frank) to move the draft back a year. I'm just saying drafting 18 year olds is a gamble which probably disincentivizes draft-day trades

Jarmo has had 12 picks in the 1st since becoming the CBj GM
None of them has been a player from Finland-
not one
It almost seems like he’s avoiding Finish players on purpose

Some scuttlebutt has been the Sabres 1st round pick this year for Hellebuyck.

I remember saying Florida's 1st... Who said the Sabres 1st?

Right. I said Florida's 1st, one of the goons who won't sign and that's a starting point. They say they want Mitts... Well then we might have a trade on our hands.

This is quite a comment in that article.

As an aside, Dell has been generally superb for the Amerks. The general consensus: if Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was in, these games would have been losses instead.

Everyone would trade up, based on that. It seems way off.

I agree.
The chart by The Athletic is much better, IMO.
But I'm no GM, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn recently

Just read that too.
Rather damning on 6K.
Hopefully he can play in this series so Adam's can have an evaluation.

If Dell continues to play well and Rochester keeps winning, how do you start UPL?

Organization has to determine what is most beneficial.
Winning, pure and simple
Player Development and gaining experience.

Is Dell a Sabre going forward.? Probably not, call-up at best I would guess.
Is 6K a Sabre going forward? Stong likelihood

Who needs to be evaluated, Dell or 6K?
Does winning in AHL Playoffs for guys like Krebs, Big-Sam, etc outweigh that evaluation of 6K?

I see arguments on both sides.

UPL would also have had 2 weeks or more off since his last game.

I wouldn't start him unless Dell had a bad game.

Just read Tim Grahams article on the Bill's Survey about seat prices and PSL.
Those prices seem absolutely nuts to me.

Lower level seating between 40 & 25 yard line without much in the way of amenities like Cover and Heat at a per ticket price of $550 per game ($4,500 annually, for 8 games). + PSL.
Wow.

Cause you need to know how UPL handles playoff pressure, he supposed to be part of the future.

Welcome to the real price of having an NFL team. This isn’t anything new in the NFL world.

I can’t afford seasons but I’m just saying that this is unfortunately the business of the NFL and what most cities are currently dealing with

dell .906 save percentage in the 2 playoff games is nothing special

there is a reason 6 k got more games in net down the stretch

If we trade for any goalie.

Portiello and a 2nd would work. (That’s if Adams can’t get him to sign.)

Portiello is too entrenched in his app and business school.

Stupid hypothetical… what ever his app he helped create at Michigan. If that could be the next big thing and explode. He could be loaded. So from that sense. I get why he stayed.

If it’s some dumb class project then I would question it.

Gotta weigh the teams overall development:

How much does winning in the ahl transfer to winning in the nhl for krebs, fitz, samuelsson, peterka and quinn.

Vs.

Just upl's development

If upl flops over dell, gotta think he still has a spot with the Sabres next year right? Starter or bench?

Probably, but it's not like Dell can't replace him. And it could go along way with UPL's development
