I know you're not a fan of Carter's play but now you're giving his ENG to Guentzel? That's a little much.

I feel like you see more net than you’d like with Domingue in net

That sums up Domingue's limitations. He's a credible pro, probably a little better than replacement level, but is what he is. It's not his glove hand, it's his inability to consistently get the precise square, center, and depth required for the shot. The high level NHL goalies are just unreal at taking away space. Keeping his head above water WRT expected goals, is all we can reasonably ask.

As for Shesterkin, keep up the rebounds, screens, deflections, and puck movement. Put shots on his pads or his defenseman's skates instead of the sweater and go for the pin ball goals.

Didn't they both have an empty net goal?

Yeah guentzal scored the first empty net goal with Sid getting the primary assist as well. Maybe these people should watch the game.

At least grinder takes the time to flip through the whole boxscore vs watching one highlight play.

I thought Letang had a rare pretty bad game last night.. And Pens don't usually win when he does... Perhaps it was the Matheson paired with him but he looked fumbly and wasn't winning as many battles as usual. I expect him to look better next game.

Handling of the puck doesn't seem to be strong for Domingue... Lots of hesitation it seems... Ya get nervous when he goes behind the net hahah

I dont know I think matheseon has been playing better than letang through 3 games, especially the last game... matheseon 4pts -1, letang 1pt, -3, definitely not what you want from your #1 dmen...i think we should hold off on the talk just give him whatever he wants for his next contract...

Good chance domingue will implode through the remainder of the series. Pens need to make sure the skaters step up to compensate

I know Ryan love's Letang, but he has been making too many bad plays and game 3 was really bad. I'm not saying Marino is ready to replace him, but they also could look to replace him next year with someone who is a little more responsible and maybe a bit younger. It may be a product of him playing with Matheson instead of having a defensive type of player to cover for his aggressive play.

Letang's positives far outweigh his negatives. Yes, he can be frustrating at times, but what he brings is very hard to replace.

The first 2 games and a period it looked like Boston didn’t have a chance.

There's no way to replace what Letang gives you in this league without spending to dollar... And, probably overpaying. Letang does too much well to let him walk. Give him the extra couple of years and ride him. Just make sure to pair him with a defensive minded D man.

The bigger problem in replacing someone like Letang is not only the cost, but even if you're willing to give up everything possible doesn't mean a player like him is even available. The Pens are really going to be effed if he walks.

Not that he doesn’t have his gaffes, but he is much more defensively responsible and steady over the years versus almost every other top Dman in the league.

Oh I agree. Hedman is probably the one that comes to mind that is better than Letang.

Watching Sid make a mockery of Miller behind the rags net reminds me of the greasy weasel working his magic in game 3 ot against the blue jackets to set up guentzels gwg.

Yup. If he leaves I can't wait to hear everyone whining about not having a true #1 dman.

Or when he ran Spezza into the ground in 2010 lol.

https://youtu.be/wJPjVZjjIt0

After the game Spezza was like "I thought I had him covered pretty well at first. What else can I do there?"

He's by far the best 2-way d-man I'm the league. But, for all of the other guys that have come and gone over the years that Letang's been around...I'd take Tanger in an instant.
