How many players can a team carry in the playoffs? Reason I ask is because I see a few teams with nearly an entire AHL team...perfect example is Toronto has 17 scratches tonight(TB has 2 lol). Maybe I just never noticed that to be normal.

Pretty sure when post season starts you can have as many call ups as you want... Without looking is that maybe because Leafs AHL team, the Marlies, aren't in the playoffs and the Bolts' are?

Think prime Weber and Keith are the only two 1Ds that were beyond sin to their fanbases while also not being massively overrated (Doughty/Suter). In today’s game 1Ds have to drive offense and sometimes that comes at the expense of defensive responsibility and leads to turnovers. Just is what it is.

Thanks, exactly right. Boston had 17 as well, looked and Providence was eliminated. Guess I never noticed before because the Baby Pens never miss the playoffs lol

Definitely. Combo of quite a few 2nd/3rd goalies playing and the refs calling penalties like it's November is certainly helping.

Are we moving Elite Rorigues to Malkin's line? He's been promoted for less.

The part about this blog I find funny is if anyone else came into the lineup and was “physical on the forecheck” it would be considered a bad thing. If you’re hitting you don’t have the puck.

I said it in the last blog comments and I'll say it again....I hope they remember game 4 vs the Isles last playoffs when they were up 2-1. Absolutely no excuse for that game 4 effort last year.

Xgf be damned this Rangers team isn’t as good as the Islanders last year.

Not gonna do a deep dive into what last year’s stats say but I’m almost positive that they agreed with you. The Isles didn’t control possession but they did control high danger chances. This rangers team is bad in pretty much every category and is being propped up by Vezina goal tending. Last year’s islanders team had a system that worked really well, it just wasn’t possession based.

Oh they did. Isles were a 52% xGF team, Rangers were like 47% xGF this season.

It wouldn't of matter who they played like it. They completely took their foot off the gas in game 4, just came out with a pre season'ish lackluster effort. It looked like they had all went out for big night in Big Apple the night before or some sh!t. I was on here saying you can't fvck around like that in the playoffs. You cant take full games off or series leads for granted. They looked like the perimeter Pens...lots of shots but not much hustle...not going to the net like the 1st few games.

Zucker-Carter-EROD sounds good to me after last game.

Hoping Dumo is back tonight but if not, I'd rather see Pettersson play with Letang and have Matheson and Marino on the 2nd pair. Just felt like Math & Letang never had any idea of where the other was going to be and I've been pleasantly surprised by Pettersson playing decently.

I’ve always liked Zucker and Carter together. Heinen’s back to holding his own with Geno after a pretty prolonged period of being totally useless to end the season, so if we can get Rakel back I’d keep the buzz saw top line together and have my middle six be Heinen-Malkin-Rakel; Zucker-Carter-ERod. Pick who you want to scratch out of Boyle, DOC, and Kapanen.

Agree on Matheson and Letang. Their play styles don’t mesh and it’s an unnecessary kneecap to our blue line’s ability to push play if you have them both out there together.

That's pretty crazy. I'd say him and O'le Lou had a falling out battle....pure speculation on my behalf, of course.

Absolutely. He'd have the roster playing a much better style for an older crew.
