Muzzin's been doing pretty good for being finished. I guess Tampa isn't a good team or something. Funny innit. - Zezel

the DOPS is just going to suspend Kadri for a few games as a result.
its easier - then trying to actually explain something sensibly

Thank Christ. Good on him for coming back from concussions, and playing with an injury.
Speaking of D, when Gio cleared that puck off the boards and miss the empty net by a foot last night, I feared that Tampa would subsequently tie the game and go on to win in overtime, as the near-miss on the empty net would be a most Leafy turn of events. But then they won and it was awesome.

He’s taken some solid hits that make me cringe as well, but so far so good. Leafs must be cheaters. |

Nice deep cut interview with (a very young) Dubas and (a very young) Bunting in this tweet thread.
Indirect tweet @ the PHWA who might read this: when weighing Calder votes, I encourage you to consider that disregarding Bunting because of his development in the AHL ignores that he wasn’t able to access junior hockey for financial reasons. He’s worked hard to overcome that. - mitch marney

Having said that, Seider is pretty much a lock for the Calder and I think Zegras finishes 2nd, but Bunting has been fantastic and deserves being a finalist. |

Optimism = Leafs are totally going to close out the series in 6!
Realism = Bolts are favoured to win tomorrow night and that's okay. There's a chance the Leafs can do it but if they don't, there's Game 7 at home. 🤔
Pessimism = Leafs blow Game 6 and 7. Burn it all down and choke on my Leafy, salty tears, female doges! 🔥 |

The reason Seider will win is because he's a 50 point defenseman at 20 playing 23 minutes a night. What's this fight? Have Makar and Quinn so jaded people to the fact that a rookie defenseman of any age hitting 50 points is insane?

He'll win it because he deserves to... In my opinion, he's the best rookie player...

Lol you added that right as I went there.
He's the only rookie defenseman (since they started tracking ice time) to rack up 50 points and over 23 minutes per night. |

Will be interesting to see if they continue with Gio on PP1. Rielly really struggling to get any kind of shot through from the top. Just not a threat, and lets Tampa really focus on Matthews/Marner. As soon as Gio joined PP1, he unleashed a one-time bomb that Vasi had to make a very good save on. |

Also realism:
1. Most of if not all of the pressure to win game 6 is very much on Tampa despite many of us here (me included) being nervous and struggling through “close out a series PTSD”.
2. No team has won 2 in a row in this series - so even if the series does have to go to a game 7….
3. A game 7 would be at home for Toronto - in front of a crowd that is clearly helping keep the Leafs motivated.
4. Tampa crowd isn’t quite a 50/50 split but I’d bet it’s close - lots and lots od Leaf fans there - listen to those “Soooooooup” chants and tell me I’m wrong. :-)
5. What would be better than to bounce Tampa out of the playoffs in Tampa if the Leafs can pull it off?
Seriously I hope Keefe is telling them game 6 is no pressure boys, just start the game not “playing not to lose” but rather like you did the last 2 periods of hockey and enjoy it. If they can play like that or even better defensively and not have to rely on Soup being all star Soup I like their chances to break the stupid “Vasi never loses 2 in a row” streak”!
Vasi is the boogie man so many Leaf fans just keep waiting to show up, here’s the thing though…….
It appears the 2022 Toronto Maple Leafs do not believe in the Boggie man & that’s glorious.

Yep, I have been saying move Reilly of PP1 for years now, I never got why he was there. Gio is much better back there IMO, hope they stick with it.
