This is the main point. Goaltending is going to be upgraded. It's almost impossible for them not to. They don't even have enough bodies on the roster next year right now.

The Sabres have 3 forwards that can produce at a Top 6 level consistently. Oloffsson is close, but until he actually does it or a full season, I'm not putting him in that category. Even if you include him, if, more likely when, one of them goes down with injury, you have players slotted where they don't belong, and then a repeat of November-February.

If Kane wants to come here to retire, and ensure the Sabres are competitive, he should also understand the impact of any deal/salary to bring him here. Florida’s 1st is max I’m paying, mid level prospect in addition. Not a 16th and a Krebs or equal.

I can't find ENGA anywhere but I would be interested to see how that impacts GA team-by-team. Those GA are essentially a product of the team being bad

So its really like a 22ish goal differential.

Or you wait a year and are bidding against 15 other teams.
