The best teams are scoring 17-21 EN goals-for compared to the Sabres 12.

So we're talking a 20 GF/GA total differential that is essentially a "penalty" for being bad during the rest of the game.

I think we continue to develop Krebs, Cozens, Quinn, JJ, Power, Rusto, trade Mitts for a goalie, get a solid defensive partner for Power, improve greatly again, maybe fringe wildcard team this year, don’t gut Rochester, don’t trade away all our assets, futures

If you add a 30 goal scorer you also have to take away whatever player he is replacing.

So its really like a 22ish goal differential.

Pretending that it's as simple as 'the number 1 will always come before the number 2 and nothing will ever change' is not the approach you should be taking in your analysis. There's far too many dynamics to simply say, we get a better goalie and that's that.

How is the best American born player in the history of the NHL not a good fit? I get that he is on the down side of his career but he still lights the lamp and a lot. IMO we have a very young team, he can take over Okposo spot as being he Dad of the team and contribute way more then Okposo
