paul cyr, rest in peace, was a bust - homiedclown
Two things I remember about him. One, he has a wicked slapper. Second (and I am less certain about this), he got in a fight once and completely destroyed the other guy.

I just don't understand why people think Kane would sign here as a FA. If he doesn't waive to come here, he won't sign here.
The whole idea of trading for him is to bring fans back at the beginning of next season, give Kane a year in Buffalo to see if he likes the culture and direction of the team and if he sees long-term success in the near future.
That's why you try to trade for him this summer as opposed to next year at the deadline. If he gets invested in the team and the fans come back and we can squeak into the playoffs, he might be inclined to resign here.
If he's coming here as a FA, well, he's not coming here.
I think the risk of him leaving after 1 year is worth the price it would cost to get him.
Chicago blew it this year. They went all-in, even if they won't admit to it. They had Toews come back after a year off, they traded for Seth Jones and signed him long-term, they signed McCabe and traded Keith and they traded for MAF.
They swung and they missed. They realize they need to rebuild and Kane is a question mark for them. Debrincat is still young and still an RFA. He is a 40 goal scorer. He will be expensive and they might want him to stick around for the next 5 years. They almost certainly will not be trading him.
If they can get a 1st, a roster player and a prospect for Kane, I'd say they need to consider it. His contract limits the potential destinations at the TDL and the 1st rounder they will get for him will end up being a late 1st for that year's draft.
Pick 16, Mittelstadt, Krebs... For Kane, Connor Murphy.
Is this such a bad deal for either team? We get a guy who will sell jerseys, is from Buffalo and is a bona-fide superstar. We also get that defense partner for Power everyone wants. We give up a mid-rounder in this year's draft and two .5 PPG young players to speed up Chicago's rebuild while also retaining our other two firsts.
I think it's 100% worth the risk. Take a run next year and see if the team is there or if they still need a few more years.
Sign Kadri, a goalie and the top two lines look like this:
