Background: Cooley has been the leading player in the 2004 age group for the USNTDP the last two years, although his pure production doesn’t blow you away. He made the USA world junior team as a 17-year-old in a significant role as their No. 2 center with power play time. He was a top forward at the U18 World Championships. He was a top player for the U18 team as a 16-year-old as well. He’s committed to the University of Minnesota.

Analysis: Cooley is a dynamic player. When he has the puck on his stick you instantly notice him because of his high-end speed, skill and offensive IQ. He can make highly creative dekes and passes at full speed. The pace of his game is why I think he will be a top NHL player. He takes pucks up the ice and to the net often. Cooley lacks size, but he plays hard. He can drive play at even strength while also having the vision and shot to be a power-play threat running a unit from the walls. He projects as a first-line forward; as a center, he would be a low-end first-line center in the NHL.

I don't even think Stefon Diggs is worthy of the Bills wall yet. 1300 yards is very good. But it's not even close to elite. Now, if you have 1300 yards receiving for like, 3-4, 5 years in a row, then I won't argue.

But Eric Moulds wasn't an all-time great. I don't even think Andre Reed was an all-time great.

Thurman Thomas was. Bruce Smith was. Jim Kelley for the K-gun offense alone is an all-time great (and he did QB a team to 4 Super Bowls).

People say Moulds didn't have anyone throwing him the ball who was particularly good. Well, Jackson didn't have the O-line that Thurman did, and he had an idiot head coach or two, and had to split time with CJ Spiller.

What Fred Jackson did with what he had, where he came from and his presence in the community, he absolutely should be on the Bills Wall of Fame.

We loved guys like Ray, Kyle Williams, and all of the other names that have been tossed around. They have no business having their jersey's retired. As it is we look like a minor league sports town because we have banners for winning our division and winning the President's Trophy (both of which scream that your team did nothing in the playoffs).

I think it's the Montreal Canadiens that "honor" certain players by putting their numbers in the rafters, but not officially retiring them.
