Mike Smith was shakey even when making a save. When a team has no confidence that your goaltender can stop a puck, no matter if they have the most dynamic player in the game you are in trouble. Edmonton doesn't have a defense like Carolina, that can shut down shots let alone scoring chances. - LAHawk
CAR's defense is built around what the forwards do more than the defensemen most of the time. Except Slavin and Pesce, of course. Those guys are nuts. |

A couple of guys speculating about Kane to the Islanders.
https://nhlrumors.com/nhl...olden-knights/2022/05/10/
Lou L wants to add some offense and is supposedly shopping his 2022 1st round pick. He'll probably want to unload a veteran contract or two to free up some cap space. I don't see a fit there and besides Kane would have to waive his NMC. Don't see it happening. - boilermaker100

None of those guys fit KD's profile of being fast.

Are you and Mohel saying that Bowman had a good run from about 2016 until he was fired? - SteveRain
Have I ever said that? Come on Steve don’t fall into the trap of not admitting someone did a good job along with their mistakes just because you dislike them. Bowman had a very good run up until 2016. His mistakes culminated with a horrible trade for Jones. |

I know you can't put condition on a trade if a player signs an extension with the new team after a trade. So let's assume Kane waives and he signs a 3 year extension with the Hawks before a trade. Then Buffalo has him for 4 years. The ask would be greater. I'll start with 3 1sts, Peterka and another prospect. |

except you're trading a last year player, not a guy with 4 years term. |

agree to disagree.....they waited too long to shake up their core, and sold way too low. They also had the great Theo sign some horrendous deals which also tied up monies they could have better spent elsewhere. Still paying Jason heyward who I dont' think has sniffed .250 avg, and then the immortal Tyler Chatwood....the reliever who blew out his back tying his shoes....and so on.
IMO..Theo Epstein is by far the most overrated GM in Chicago sports history. - SteveRain
Not sure if I would say overrated. In the sense that he DID bring a WS to both the RedSox and the Cubs, I would say his praises are justified. I will also temper that by saying in both Boston and Chicago he made some extremely questionable moves that cost long term big dollars and/or prospects that hampered the club moving forward.
Ask a die-hard Redsox fan what they think and you will get some of the same comments that Cub fans make. |

I think that Kane's age is ot being considered in figuring out his trade value by posters. Maybe o ly two furst round and a good prospect although I would also wish to upgrade somewhere on current roster y trading our position player fir theur same position player(but we get the better player) |

One post on our board was: Florida's '22 1st, Mittelstadt and Laaksonen ( https://www.hockeydb.com/...s/pdisplay.php?pid=205473)
Another was: '22 1st (not Buffalo's, but they didn't specify whether VGK or FLA), 3rd and a "good prospect"
I'm not posting them here saying they're great trades, just curious on input. |

Don't think it'll be an ask, teams will have to keep making offers until KD is willing to even bring it up to Kane about waiving his NMC. |

That sounds like bad roster management on an aging pending UFA - and that's not a knock on Kane obviously, I've wanted the guy to "come home" for years, but a $10M expiring contract for a guy who will be 34 a month into the coming season on a team needing to rebuild. Not sure how many teams can come knocking on Chicago's door |

Yea but those fans are the same ones who complain no matter what, the day after the White Sox won the world series a fan called the score and was complaining about something Guillen did, what a moron. I'm sure Red Sox and Cubs fans were as well, chronic complainers

Is it though? Look what we got for Hagel. He wasn't being shopped. Kane will help develop the kids bring fans in to watch him, still plays at an elite level. He might have 3-5 seasons left in him. If someone is willing to trade for him, will have 1st chance in resigning him |

Bowman would do that trade, Anders Lee is a former Notre Damer, we know how Stan loves those Golden Domers to trade for and draft

He has hinted a couple of times that being in Buffalo is not good for him. Too many negative influences from his immature past. Also, Buffalo isn’t exactly a contender yet. I think if he leaves Chicago it will be for a team he feels he can push over the top. |

Not in this draft . Hypothetical Kane to islanders for what? A lot high contracts and prospects are just ok very unlikely. If the Rangers get bounced I could see both towes and Kane going there both would have to half retained. The big thing right now wrong with the Rangers cannot win faceoffs and changing the game and another playmaker to deliver in the clutch what the return would be don't know but a possible tdl deal. Both expiring contracts. |
