No speculation on whether Fleury will lose his net for the 3rd playoffs in a row after letting in 4 in 3 different games?

Wouldn't consistency just be the league overall standings? Is this a joke? |

Wouldn't the Blues be both Power and Consistent? They have at least 2, and arguably 3 lines that can dominate a game for periods of time, and at least 2 players that can do so. Tarasenko and O'Reilly. I'd almost want to argue Thomas too. |

NYR and MIN are the least star driven teams in these playoffs imo. I’d have to rate them as *consistent* ahead of *power* |

Oh an my Leafs have consistently flubbed their last 6 playoff series’s in the first round. If that’s not a picture of consistency then I don’t know what is 🤷🏾♂️

This level of analysis might take me awhile to grasp. Wondering how Colorado vs Nashville stacked up on the Power/Consistency spectrum? |

Ek has said a lot of ridiculous things over the years but what he said about the Colorado vs. Nashville series this year has to be up there as one of the most asinine things I have ever read on this blog - BeadyEyedDouche
There is nothing wrong with calling an upset. But generally people outline a couple of reasons why. Instead it was just stated as a basic fact that Nashville was the EXACT team Colorado wanted to avoid. I asked several times to hear a bit of rationale but nothing. I picked Colorado in 4. Massive advantage with goaltending. Massive difference in elite talent. But most importantly...Nashville was the most penalized team in the NHL, yet had the worst PK among all other playoff teams. I knew the Avs PP would bury them. Bingo. Avs in 4. Not even close. They even overcame the curse of winning by 5 goals, and again by 4 goals. |

What if they had traded for Playoff Money!(TM) Marc-Andre Fleury as they were predicted/badgered to do on seemingly several dozen occasions here? To paraphrase Michael Scott, would they have won even harder? The Avs probably could have survived Fleury letting in 4 a game and still won.
On the other hand what about Big Save Dave Rittich? I read here that he showed he was 'The Man' in goal for Nashville after giving up only 4 goals in Nashville's epic Game 81 win at Colorado. Did Hynes make a strategic blunder by not playing The Man in goal?

If you stop treating it as hockey rumors and begin to see it as very dry, poorly written comedy, it becomes slightly more palatable. |

Ek has his factors member?
To me the most important factors in playoff success are...
#1. Hot Goaltending
#2. Special Teams
#3. Health
#4. Matchups
#5. Your Top Players BEING your Top Players.
#6. Depth on the Blueline (Being able to have as many as 8 NHL D-men because of the War of Attrition.
#7. Playoff experience as a Team
#8. Leadership
#9. Players who have won elsewhere.
#10. Home Ice |

Home ice means nothing anymore Too much equality among teams Not much difference A bounce here or there changes the series Luck has a lot to do with outcomes Teams outshot badly can still win with a lucky bounce. Refs have a lot to do with it also They control what happens in a game more than you really understand |

Here are the series winners
Colorado Obviously they already won but noboby game Nsh a chance anyway
Florida because they have more talent
Tampa Bay Cause Toronto never wins anything and will choke again
Pittsburgh because they have the will to win and the Rangers do NOT
St Louis THey have the guys who have been there done that
LA because EDM cannot win anything SEE Toronto
Carolina because Boston cannot win in Carolina
Calgary because at lease one Canadian team has to get out of the first round
There you have it |

"Incredibly Rare" for teams to have both.
Lists 6/16 teams having both. |
