Nothing could be further from the truth. 5 on 5 versus PP or shorthanded situations/time is 3 - 1. |

They both play a heavy D, whoever either play next round its going to be a much more exciting series. Im pretty impressed by Cal and Tor, Edm is where i expectes them to be. Crosby injured is very bad news for Pitt, liked that team as a vet darkhorse

You give way to much credibility to the US program. Open your eyes and you will see. - Reubenkincade
They really seem to be pumping out elite talent, are you sure you might not be giving enough credit?! I wish we had a CADP at this point personnely
Heres some recent history

Edit: Miller is listed as pick 11 on this site, Carol is correct it is actually 15 so there may other errors. Still impressive. |

As I posted a couple years back, the nhl subsidizes the the US program at a very high rate, compared to revenue brought in.
I can't remember exactly what the funding was, but I believe Canada brings in roughly 60% of the revenue and has about 15% of development revenue goes to Canada, over 40% to the US and Sweden also is similar to Canada.
So basically, we as Canadians, subsidize the US hockey program, in order to grow the game.
Mind you, when I originally posted that, Canadians took up about 50% of the rosters and had a trend of several decades of a certain amount of players in the league.
Now the numbers have dropped slightly, but are being picked up by other nations, that have been subsidized by the NHL, at a disproportionate rate as per where the revenue is being made.
Interesting when you dig into the numbers. |

If anyone thought Calgary would be playing exciting hockey, you haven't seen much Sutter hockey.
Also, Trouba hit on Crosby has to be at least 2 games. |

The series is boring.
Yes I’d say it was a cheap head shot & a suspension. The NHL is gutless as a rule so maybe 1 game. Wouldn’t surprise me if none given I’ve so faith in DOPS |

Just saw the highlights.
I don't think there is anything suspension worthy there.
But it's Crosby, so I expect a 1 gamer maybe.

It wasn't a crazy big hit, but he targeted the head with his elbow (that wasn't a natural hitting motion, he chicken winged it) and it resulted in an apparent injury. Definitely worth a suspension. |

His stick got caught under Crosbys skate and it caused his arm to fold upwards, don't think it was intentional or suspension worthy. |
