He wasn't great, he wasn't terrible. He's a fine depth defenseman for a team that wants to make a playoff run, to be honest. He shouldn't play big minutes but on a 3rd pairing he'll be alright.

Not the worst move in the world. Idk how many seasons he has left. His foot speed has really fallen off the past 2 years but it seems to have stabilized at least..

If we're moving the #2 pick I imagine it's packaged for a team-controlled top line winger. I cant imagine the list of players that it would actually be moved for is very long(and those players likely aren't moved anyway. For example: Matt Tkachuk if you know he'd re-sign long term or Alex DeBrincat.) I highly doubt the list goes beyond that, maybe a few more guys depending on what other teams are deciding to do for their future. Seems pretty unlikely the pick is moved though.

I think they'll keep the 2nd pick and just take one of Cooley/Slafkovsky then put a package together of our 2nd rounder or protected 1st next year and players/prospects for a 'lesser tier' top 6 winger.(Like a Fiala/Schmaltz/Meier/Garland/Boeser/ect)

Given Slafkovsky's performance at the WC, that pick is getting more valuable by the day.

Because of that, I don't think there's a universe in which NJ trades that pick.
