If Nemeth played minutes I’d agree. The whole point is what was he there for? Water boy? He obviously was never intending on using him. Lindgren even left the game and they went to 5 D.

Probably cause they knew Lindgren wasn't seriously hurt so spread out the minutes to the other d-men for a couple shifts. Basically think of Nemeth as a scratch last night. Its what everyone wanted

I'm with you guys. I don't particularly care for Nemeth, but I also dont put a dude who only played 12 games in the regular season and only stood out in a meaningless one at the end in an elimination game. Jones will get his shot, just wont be this year, unless you injure Braun and Nemeth

Maybe it was completely precautionary? They pretty much had the game in the bag. I expect him to be in for game 6 and the Rangers likely won't have an answer.
