NMCs aren't iron clad and get waived all the time. It takes a competent GM to broker a deal this is good for both team and agreeable for the player. NMCs are sought after by players because uprooting your family on a constant basis sucks not to handcuff GMs and stymie rebuilds.

Sweeney is not that GM. Its going to be painful until they realize he isnt going to build a championship team.

It takes two to tango...most of the players being bantered about here have at least some level of trade protection in their contracts with many having a full NMC.

According to cap friendly Coyle, Foligno, Marchand, and Hall have a certain number of named team no trade lists, not full no move clauses for next year. Trades are possible.

Request the lists, time to move on.


EDIT: And you can get a 16 team no trade list from Ullmark after next season.

Don't think anyone is biting on Foligno at $3.8M. He is a buyout candidate unless you can somehow package him (which might be possible with someone like Gryz?).
