He's like if Tanner was almost normal. - JRR1285
I do kind of miss Tanner arguing the dumbest points until he was blue in the face. In fact, I'm going to go check in on his stupid blog and see what he has to say |

Take a look at Jacob Trouba goal in embedded video in prior blog starting around the 2:50 or so mark. In my view, Jeff Carter tried a two handed slash on stick/hands that just missed, but Rangers are only guilty party. - airjan23
Oh I don't believe the Rangers are the only guilty party by far. Geno crosschecked dude in face and should get a suspension. Carter shouldn't be slashes people, but he's skating as the corpse of Jeff Carter nowadays so he's gotta do what he can for an advantage. Definitely shoulda been called. I hate how they let all the garbage go in the Playoffs, like blatant poopty plays. |

i remember seeing that in the replay very clearly. does not mean he's deserving of getting targeted by dirty hits, which he was not. just means he's someone with all the talent in the world and all of the achievements who still feels the need to try to game the system. |

They get themselves in trouble calling ticky tack stuff. And then have to make up for them or just call even more dumb poop.
Last night the leafs (who idc aboot lol) got robbed twice in a row with phantom high sticks, down two men, TB ties it and tronna loses in OT |

can you tell your friends that are trying to play the "trouba didn't intentionally try to target crosbys head" but somehow also "has a history of high hits and is deserving of a suspension" cards that those are kind of mutually exclusive things. pick a side and own it |

Good luck to you guys. Hopefully we can have a civil discussion in here at some point in the not too distant future. I think things are going to be pretty hot over the next week plus. |

That's a real Sophie's choice for me. I (frank)ing hate Cooper and his smug bumhole face but watching Toronto fans squirm is the best.
But I also have an alternative scenario. Tavares succeeding would really bother the Islanders fans so I am kind of leaning that way. |

I don't think that he "sought" out Crosby to hit him, but I definitely think he stuck out his elbow to catch him. Dude definitely has a history of high hits though, that's on video for sure.
Sid ain't no saint either. Ragdolling dude behind net, or punching the Caps player in the face is some garbage. It's so annoying they let that poop go. Like poster above said, they call the ticky tacky poop but let the egregious garbage go.
Edit: It also may have been a "reflex" or "reactionary" chicken wing, but he definitely wanted to catch him somehow, maybe he didn't expect to hit his head but who knows. Same poop with sticks, gotta be responsible with your elbows. |

If I'm trying to look at it as a fan of neither team, the 2 that would be closest for any type of disciplinarian action would be Trouba on Guentzel and Malkin on Rooney. Even those I think they got right and maybe just a tiny fine. |

the refs paint themselves into a corner where they seem to start out games with ticky tack calls and then feel like they can't call anything later in the game, no matter how egregious. every. single. game. it's such a weird mindset to have. it's kind of like how in the NFL they let plays run and never adjust the clock all game until the last 2 minutes, which end up taking half an hour. |

NHL officiating is one of the things keeping the league down. While I used to enjoy fighting when I was younger it really makes it seem like a third rate or worse clown league at times. |

A fine on both is 100% deserved. I haven't even seen that Guentzel one but I am trusting everyone that it was bad. I turned the game on a few minutes late when they loaded the penalty box up. |
