I think that after watching the replay he should have had a 2 minute elbowing penalty. But in real time I didn't even notice the hit tbh so it's hard for me to say it was this booming, egregious hit (not that you are). It was a poopty outcome for you guys, and frankly for the sport with the show Crosby was putting on, but I think if that hit was put on someone without Crosby's injury history he'd be in the lineup tonight no question.

That may be but my point still stands, whether that's right or not is a different discussion that I'd rather not get into.

My point was that while he caught him awkwardly, it wasn't some Lindgren-Rakell type collision. Crosby's history most likely plays into his status for tonight and the rest of the series. I'd say it definitely does, but as Brukie points out I'm not a doctor

Earlier word today via Sportsnet in addition to both Crosby and Dumoulin being out tonight, had Rackell being a game time decision. However, Jarry is still out, despite also participating as Rackell did at the Pens' team practice this morning. SN sources stated that Crosby was not at that practice, but did skate today, though appearing only with Pens' "team's skills coach," Ty Hennes.

If Crosby sustaining another concussion in Game 5 is reason for him being sidelined tonight; then why would the Pens' organization allow him to be on the ice at all in just (+/-) 40 hours later, first given his past concussion history? Even greater of risk, are they actually considering him a possibility to return to the lineup should there be a Game 7 Sunday night, or by the first game of Round Two should the Pens reach it? It's hard to believe that Pens' team doctors, and any neurologist would approve any of the above. That when "complete rest," & especially so for at least the initial few days after sustaining one, is the first in part remedy to heal properly from a concussion.

I don't see how Motte isn't in the lineup tonight. Playoffs are why they traded for him.
