Too emotional Ry, the time to step up for Crosby was on the ice when it happened. League would then be forced to review not only the hit but the incident would have been magnified by the ensuing scrum. Be thankful the coach and GM are tight lipped right now because if the leadership group starts tearing at the league and the missed c all...its only going to leak in to the minds of the players and take their focus away from the primary goal, which is winning tonight's game. Im neither a Pens or Rangers fan so when i see the hit its hard to call it anything other than that, a hit. Although Crosby gets an elbow, it certainly doesnt look like a suspension worthy hit. Again, that is a completely objective viewpoint based on 0 vested interest and using hits that have been suspended as a reference point.

Letang and Malkin deserve a far better exit for PPG Paints Arena than this could be potentially be.

The curse of Adam Graves will hurt the Rangers tonight. Sometimes history repeats itself.

I think one of the potential reasons why the Penguins were so quiet about the hit was because Malkin committed a penalty similar to the one that got him suspended.

It’s quite idiotic to point to quality of teammates, then bash Jeff Carter. I don’t care, just win.

Yeah. He’s the quality of team mate that drags his other linemates down. Weird that all other players are better away from Carter than with.

The reason why there was no response on the ice because it was just a normal hard clean hockey hit. Sid unfortunately leaned down and went right into the hit. Crosby is so prone to concussions most players would have skated away from that with no issue. Look at the hit on AHO last night. 10x more violent then the hit on Sid but Aho just skated away. Retribution, if you want it on a clean hit, is in winning the game tonite not by being stupid and retaiiating in a game you are winning 2-0 or in a game 6 or 7

Yeah, I guess I was shocked when Geno set up the first line for a goal after Carter was taken off the first line.

I don't know about some of this blog.. what would the front office publicly b!tching about it do?... How do you know that Hex and Burkie are even upset or think it was malicious? Two guys who are very much familiar with rough and tumble physical hockey. I agree with the poster above saying perhaps the time to of done anything about it was on the ice at the time it happened but the problem with that is no one really knew it happened as it wasn't really a standout play or penalty.

Music to my ears to hear Sid was skating this morning. I didn't care about the outcome of tonight or this series as much as his health. If he had concusion symptoms I don't see them putting him in a high/fast motion (skating) setting under the bright lights of the arena. I'm not an actual doctor though (actually my nickname for a long time haha) and I've been wrong before haha.

Can't believe Sully didn't elevate Carter to 2C... That's great news.

The thing that I can't for the life of me, not even Saravelli who I respect seems to see is that Trouba was gearing up, directing his body upwards toward Sid's head the whole way in. How do people just keep ignoring that?

So, In RW's opinion the front office "whining more" would be "Having Sids back"?

Whats that gonna do?

I'd rather we had a 4th line goon that would cheap shot Trouba "in turn" and send the message to cheap shot players, that "That's what happens when you go after our stars"

I won’t be surprised if Malkin fights Trouba tonight. I would rather someone just fight him right away than have a scrum every whistle. Maybe Boyle but Malkins the only one I can think if that probably doesn’t give a poop what Sully says.

Dude it happened so fast, I think you’re giving Trouba a lot of credit to say he identified Sid and thought elbow high all in a split second. It was a dirty hit but I’m not sold on “he went after Sid”.

Thank you. I've been hoping someone else might offer this stance. It was a chicken wing elbow. That would be like saying an MLB pitcher intentionally hit a batter with a change up. Just doesn't happen.

Pens just need to make "clean hockey plays" where they throw out their elbows towards Ranger players every time.

Oh yeah, I agree. I don't think he targeted Sid, he was hitting high all night (elbowed Guentzel in the head) and has a history of hitting high.
