I don't know. I've seen worse play better. Giving up 4 g's a game or so. - madmike71 Not saying he's played great, but for a guy that played all of 2 NHL games this year, and hadn't played 5 straight in 4 years, he had us in position to win the series the past 2 games.

I didn't think the Pens would get out of this series before it started but then it looked like theres no way they'd lose it... So to lose it like this is pretty gross haha....
No Jarry is rough too.. This series might be over already if he's healthy... The kid was in Vezina conversations before March, it's a big loss. Not saying he would of won Vezina, Shest is very deserving and definitely the clear winner, just saying that's a big jump in quality starts from a 3rd stringer call up haha |

If Sid doesn't get cranked in the head.....it's over. Even with LD in net. Completely swung the series.

No Sid. No Jarry. No Dumo. No Rakell. No DeSmith. That's bound to catch up.

Special teams sucked.
Nice (frank)ing penalty to change the game Erod. - acdc1206
The Penguins PP is a liability at this point. I still dont understand the decision making behind Malkin being on the point when Sid isn't playing. And what the hell happened to our PK? We were so good most of the year and fell of a (frank)ing cliff. |

Honestly never thought this series would go this far.
Awful way to end a game but Lou is not supposed to be here. He is a third string. That was a baad goal against. He’s done.

Yeah they were outstanding at one time. Blue loses the faceoff clean and then an immediate score. That's really the only time I've noticed Blue this series. |

Whatever happened to playing a box and blocking shots? This play the passing lanes woke bullpoop PK is not for this team. |

Just taking a while guess, but erod will not be back next season... Sullivan was furious, he followed erod from the box to the bench

I was at the game and had a couple of thoughts, some good and some bad, most of which im guessing you guys have already talked about.
-You need Jarry for Game 7 more so than Crosby. You cant ask a 3rd string goalie to win 4 games for you including a game 7. If Jarry has any chance to play as close to 100% as he can, you need to put him in.
-Rodrigues is such an immature player. He gets the chance to earn himself a really nice payday and be the 2C, and this is what he does. Completely unacceptable. I dont know if Sully benched him (probably not with Boyle being out), but he deserved to be.
-Kapanen might be the dumbest player on this team. He has zero situational awareness. Despite not scoring this series, I think he's made some good plays, but tonight he was terrible.
-If that was Malkin's last game in PPG Paints as a Penguin, he gave us one last vintage goal. The arena almost came down when he scored that one.
-This was the loosest the Penguins looked. They let the Rangers into the zone much easier than in previous games. The Rangers also tried and connected on a ton of stretch passes. We had been doing a good job at limiting them. That second goal was all Chad R overplaying the guy against the boards.
-The Rangers just arent a great hockey team. Dont mean to take anything away from them, but you've been playing a team with a #3 goalie, missing a top 4 dman, missing Crosby, and missing a top 6 winger. And the Penguins are still owning the Rangers 5 on 5.
-Game 7 will be decided on special teams. I have no reason to think we cant beat these guys 5 on 5 again. If we do dumb stuff again and take double minors and stupid penalties, we will lose again.
Fun game to be at, the crowd was tense but there was a lot of energy. Just a really stupid way to lose a game. |

so much of this dude. cant even fault louis. he shouldnt be there. he made some nice saves. but hes a scrub. he more than outkicked his coverage tonight and this whole series.
people who blame this on malkin are stupid. theres nothing more to say there.
even with rodrigues. he got (frank)ing wiped. no call. his hit back was light. the pens have gotten the better of most officiating all series so i wont cry about that exchange but its hard for me to be like dude youre a baby and you cost us the game. he gave much less than he received. he just got got.
kudos to the rangers because they beat the pens, but this team sans crosby simply isnt that good. just call it what it is. if crosby is out and/or the rangers move on, both of these teams are lightyears behind what the rest of the conference is doing.
still. up 2 goals to none, i know the injuries are bad but you need to look in the mirror and realize you need to close this game out.

Blueger has been benched from the start of the series. Boyle is the only player with less ice time, excluding the injured guys. |

Good post, I tend to agree with it.
You called ERod immature, I would say he's selfish. The two go hand in hand. He was fourth among the forwards in ice time, he certainly wasn't benched. I've felt all along Rodrigues and ZAR are very good at manipulating the corsi figures.
Special teams has been the key to this whole series. Our PK has been nothing less than atrocious. The only thing worse has been our power play. |

Yeah it's crazy to think how close the games have been without Sid and/or neither of our starter or backup playing...despite that If the PK or PP was just a bit better last night they'd of won... or if Erod didn't get selfish.
You know what though?... There are a lot of fans in the world that wish they could see their team in a game 7 this weekend. So I'll try and enjoy the fact they're still in the dance, when hardly anyone even gave them a chance. Game 7s are a coin flip, usually. We shall see what happens.

Well, game 7 is usually a toss up if you have your top players healthy and not playing your 3rd string goalie. But we have chance, just don't feel to good about, especially since the rangers will have their crowd and maybe few calls go their way...also, our pp1 has been garbage even before Crosby got hurt...
