Tampa has won every Cup in the last two years. Every single one.

Despite the potential 1st round exit, this is the first Leafs playoffs in recent years that I've been proud of the team -- and if they put in the same effort in Game 7 that they did in Game 6 but lose, I'll be fine with it.

You can see how bad they want it, and how hard they are playing. They dominated long stretches last night and gave everything they had. Sometimes giving everything you got still tops out at 50% chance of winning, especially when it's against Tampa (one of the best teams in NHL and defending champs).

In past years it's just looked like their Caresi was low. This year feels different. I can see they really are giving everything they got.

I'm not sure how "fine with it" I will be. This team will have proven, once again, that they can't get it done when their season is on the line.

Is it a systemic issue with the team? Is it simply a coin flip that the Leafs never seem to be on the right side of?

Not saying this team should burn it all down but some major pieces will have to be reconsidered if they fail once again to advance.

And I won't be fine with it. I'll make my peace with it, but ultimately the results do matter -- especially when you're a perennial loser like this team has bafflingly been for the past number of years.

Maybe? Marner looked shaky in that OT last night. It's in their heads and maybe it makes a difference?

Or maybe they go out there and dominate like they can? Who the (frank) knows except for the guy with the Delorean and plutonium.

I may be in the minority here... and probably am...

But it was a little disappointing to hear AM34 after the game say "we just need to lay our sack on the line Saturday"...

Bro it's the playoffs ... you should've been doing that every second of every shift...that's the difference between winners and players just happy to be there...

Pucks over the glass, no goals from the core. (frank), they’ve been good. Maybe they win and maybe they lose but they’ve been good against a very good team

For those who have accepted Jesus as their saviour. For the rest of of us it’s either fighting over line combinations or dumb trade ideas.

And let’s be honest: if the refs don’t frank us, we win last night’s game.

From last blog

I hear you. I think ultimately my problem is the lack of transparency on goaltender interference. I think you get it, and I think Cush gets it - but goalies are so not protected by this league. They are so desperate to produce goals that they endanger goalies all the time. Most of these goaltender interference calls in the playoffs so far that the "League Office" has called a good goal have not been. I'd like to know why. Everyone would like to know why. We would like a clear (frank)ing definition of goaltender interference - and then our team's coaches would have some semblance of an idea of when to challenge a play and when not to.

Yep.

I watched the replay of the Oilers disallowed goal and it was definitely NOT goaltender interference from what I saw. It looked to me like the Kings D man's skate was what prevented Quick from being able to make an attempt at the save. Ultimately that call didn't matter but it is a perfect example of the inconsistency out there.

Screw it maybe the NHL needs to go full NHL style and review every single goal but expand the review to not only 'did the puck cross the line' but also were there any violations or penalties the on ice officials "missed". Give the "Off Ice Officials" the ability to waive goals off and call penalties - get it right every single time a goal is scored.

You obviously can't have them reviewing for everything but goal cam and cameras right in front of the net - why not? Everything thing else (like offside play) can be dealt with via a coaches challenge.

Would it make it weird when a goal was scored from time to time - yep.

Does that 'ruin the experience' more than a goal that shouldn't have been allowed?

Debatable and a personal experience but for me I'd rather have the delay and the call be reviewed by an off ice official and (you would friggin' hope) the right call.

It'll never happen but it's nice to dream.

I hope the game 7 score is so lopsided for the Leafs that officiating plays zero factor into the result. Again - it's nice to dream.
