My realist self expects this team to come out flat as (frank). How about them apples?
- mjones242

They are 0-8 in games where they can close out a series.

Why the frank should we expect #9 to be different?

My wife got me Bruce Cockburn tickets for Christmas (2021).

Massey franking Hall.

It was a few weeks ago.

I was sooooooo franking psyched.

The entire crowd was psyched.

First set: he played two songs on his greatest hits album. The rest was obscure old stuff, and “new” stuff, including poop he hasn’t yet released on an album.

Intermission, we go have a drink at the new bar (the renovations are fantastic).

My wife could tell I wasn’t happy, but I told her it wasn’t a problem - the second set would be all his hits.

I was wrong.

More new stuff.

In total, I think he played five of his greatest hits.

We (everyone in the building) were just shaking our heads.

Like, you are playing Massey Hall, less than 100 meters from Yonge Street, and you don’t play Coldest Night of the Year, which has the line, “Took in Yonge Street at a Glance.”

FFS, that’s Rock Concert 101 poop.

First lesson of Rock Concert 101.

Was the entire crowd so amped they all jumped out of their rockers and wheelchairs? Jesus, talk about dinosaur rock. 😂

We were the youngest people there.

He’s 76, and he’s still Canada’s best guitarist.

Voice isn’t 100%, sadly.

I get it man. My team benefitted in that game. But, I go into every game knowing that NHL officiating is utter poop. It's the worst and most inconsistent in all of major-league sports. An umpire who can't call balls and strikes would be fired after one inning.

As a fan, you just have to hope that the crap officiating balances out over the course of a seven game series.

- GalacticStone

I mean, you're not wrong. You do have to hope for it. So, considering how this entire series has gone, the Leafs are gonna need to be on the power play 15 more times than Tampa in game 7. But something tells me that's not gonna happen (nor should it) and the officiating is gonna be just as terrible as it has been all series.

Because (frank) those seats

They fixed everything up, but kept all the best stuff.

Restored the stain glass windows.

Built a glass hallway outside the building on the third floor, which leads you to the bsck of the building, with a new bar and washrooms.

I went to an event there just before they closed it for renovations, and snagged a “Massey Hall Forever” t-shirt.

Wore it to the concert.

Everyone was jealous.

All of you on Hockeybuzz are jealous.

The refs aren’t stupid.

This is how they are instructed to call games.

There needs to be a culture change.

- Atomic Wedgie

Then the NHL needs to cut ties with the refs union. Fire them all and give them all a chance to be rehired if they can 1- prove themselves capable and; B- accept that they will be working a job that will now be evaluated and judged.

Holding them accountable should, and needs to be, step 1. Otherwise you get the garbage that is the Umpires Union and how they evaluate their umps. It's a disgrace.

Dude.

He’s a good guy, cheering for the opposing team.

Don’t be a douche.

- Atomic Wedgie

Yeah, he's always been civil whenever I've talked to him in here.

His team even wears Leafs blue and white.

The NHL tells the referees to ref this way.

If you told them to quit managing games and instead just call penalties that are penalties, they would do that.

Maybe it's time they changed their tune, then.

At least acknowledge this farce.

Music doesn't have to be associated with a particular genre or era to be good or to be pure poop. One of my favorite records remains a 1928 album of Louis Armstrong and Fatha Earl Hines. Quality art is timeless, so your "dinosaur rock" comment seems to remind me of a certain ant eater.

Start saving your nickels Gigsy, less than two months before Roger Waters is here. Fairly confident it will be a similar set list to the last time. Heavy on the Dark Side of the Moon.

It was definitely a cool venue when I was there 16 odd years ago, but (frank) those seats, hard as (frank), and I'm 5'10" and my knees touched the seat in front of me.

I'm glad they fixed it up

It’s Canada’s Carnegie Hall.

Fun fact: prior to the recent renovations, it did not have a loading dock, so musical acts would have to lug all their equipment through the front doors.

That's too bad. I like Bruce a lot. Have 4 or 5 vinyl lps from the mid-late 70s. He's a great fingerstyle guitarist. I was a U of T student in the early-mid 90's. It was a great time to collect vinyl because no one was into it back then. CD's were still a thing.
There used to be lots of great vinyl shops in Toronto that I'd hit up after classes.

The idiocy at the end of the Flames games is the sort of embarrassing bullpoop you see all too often from Sutter's teams. Some guys "like that passion". I'd like to see suspensions doled out so players stop being such poor losers.

You don't like it? Play (frank)ing better. Jesus Christ.

Or it was a joke, which was even somewhat validated by his response that they were the youngest people there. I get that times are tough but it's still okay to lighten up, I promise.

Benn is a scary frank. You know he’s taking numbers. Zadorov wants him…be careful what you wish for. If Dallas is down big, Benn is taking someone with him.

I mean . . .I don't have any faith in the DoPS, but Zadorov shouldn't be playing in game 7, and if they make it, not in game 1 or 2 of the next series either. Christ he had a head shot, tried to take out a guy's knee, and then refused to stop fighting with 10 seconds left in the game? Not a great game.
