It's in my gut. I've felt it all year. The injuries, the salary-cap casualties, the underpeforming stars (Point and Vasilevskiy), the sheer astronomical odds against a threepeat.
If a Lightning fan says they honestly expect the Bolts to pull a threepeat, that fan is a noob or a homer or both.

I was still waiting for the Leaf 2 minute, 2 man advantage in overtime when the super clean Lightning scored on their 3rd shot in the frame. You know just to even things up just like the HNIC panel were suggesting.

Short musical interlude. On this day in history 59 years ago, Bob Dylan stunned America by walking off the Ed Sullivan show in protest of not being able to perform a song off his landmark Free Wheelin album. This was that song, and this was 3 years before the Beatles were forced to add a pasty to cover up the infamous Butcher Block Album. Dylan's record company made him take this song and another off the album. American censorship at its finest. Not as well known as the Woodstock Concert but in reality, this was where the protests of the 60's started. If you are lucky enough to own an original pressing of Free Wheelin with the later deleted tracks, its worth a fortune.

I get it. I'm a Lightning fan that comes rolling in here and posts a bunch and says stuff that sounds contrary to what a Lightning fan should say. If there was a Lightning forum thread (our blogger is AWOL) and some opposing fan came waltzing in talking poop, I would be suspect of their intentions.
I have some history with the Leafs. My introduction to hockey back in the early 90's came from a Toronto transplant who moved down here to Florida with his family back in the 80's. Fun fact, he got arrested in high school by the RCMP for selling hash at school. They came into the lunch room and took him away in front of everybody in the cafeteria.
My first dozen or so hockey games I ever watched were Leafs games. I was more familiar with their players than my own hometown St. Louis Blues. I became a Lightning fan on day one when they came into the league, but I've always held a soft spot for the Leafs and Blues.
I've been watching a lot of Leafs games the last couple seasons because they are entertaining to watch. If the Bolts are going to fall short on their threepeat quest, I would much rather it be against the Leafs than the friggin Bruins, Penguins, Flyers, or Panthers.

I saw him in 1988 at the Ex - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were his backup band.
It was the worst franking concert I have ever seen.

Yeah. That was a rough period. I saw him a couple times much later, in his full on renaissance period after 'Time Out Of Mind' and 'Love and Theft'. Just a killer band - Tony Garnier, Larry Campbell, Charlie Sexton et al. Incredible band, and great shows.

Saw him in ‘75 with the Band at the Forum. Was surprised at how good he was when he was by himself. Saw him about 6 years ago at Desert Fest - he played before the Stones. He was doing a lounge singer kind of thing. IMO he can do whatever the (frank) he wants.

Have you watched the 'Rolling Thunder' doc that Dylan and Scorsese did a couple years ago? Its on Netflix. Really good, though, typical Dylan - there are some parts that are basically pure bullpoop. Pretty funny, actually, that he says stuff in a "documentary" with a straight face that is absolute bs.

I've seen Dylan over 20 times, will make an effort to continue to go to his shows, he was never even a mediocre singer, his music and lyrics are exceptional. His bands are legendary. Saw him with the Band, the Rolling Thunder Review with Joni Mitchell, at the Nags Head North with local guitarist Paul James. My son and I saw him prior to covid at a dumpy hockey rink in Barrie. I also saw Dylan with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in Buffalo on July 4th. Grateful Dead were the top billing but Dylan stole the show. I have the laser disc of that tour, I had to buy it twice because a friend borrowed it and never returned it. You may want to invest an hour or so to watch it, great stuff. Also would suggest an album called Dylanesque by Bryan Ferry. An album of only Dylan covers by someone that can really sing.

My wife got me Bruce Cockburn tickets for Christmas (2021).
Massey franking Hall.
It was a few weeks ago.
I was sooooooo franking psyched.
The entire crowd was psyched.
First set: he played two songs on his greatest hits album. The rest was obscure old stuff, and “new” stuff, including poop he hasn’t yet released on an album.
Intermission, we go have a drink at the new bar (the renovations are fantastic).
My wife could tell I wasn’t happy, but I told her it wasn’t a problem - the second set would be all his hits.
I was wrong.
More new stuff.
In total, I think he played five of his greatest hits.
We (everyone in the building) were just shaking our heads.
Like, you are playing Massey Hall, less than 100 meters from Yonge Street, and you don’t play Coldest Night of the Year, which has the line, “Took in Yonge Street at a Glance.”
