Going to be super fun game tonite! If we win, we advance and get more experience for our young team. If we lose, we make it a teachable moment for our youngsters. A game 7 experience for all of our kids will pay dividends down the road.
One last note: I want to take a moment to recognize how good Jan is as our blogger. He exudes a passion like us fans, but keeps himself professional all the time and remains above much of the fray and nonsense that occasionally rises. When you see the awful writings of guys like Ryan Wilson, it makes me appreciate Jan even more! If this is our final game of the season, thanks Jan for another great year!

Looks like Tristan Jarry tonight for Pittsburgh. No surprise as I wrote in the column. - airjan23
Just read the Pittsburgh blog filled with tears and excuses with zero respect given to other team and I gotta commend you on the job you do here your objectivity while still being a fan and professionalism is a rare and welcome sight. |

Jan the man!! Always fair and objective.
All I ask is for a 60 minutes effort tonight. If that’s not enough, than so be it. I think they step up and leave it all out there.

Given the "news" today tweeted by Frank Seravalli that Sidney Crosby did not suffer a concussion - contracting what Emily Kaplan and ESPN reported - I would be extremely surprised if he didn't play tonight. |

I am sure he will play. Rangers need to hit him ( legally ) every time he touches the puck. The Penguins have been reduced to mostly a one line team. Stop the Crysby line and our chances to win will rise dramatically.
If they really want to play Jarry tonite, then we have to shoot, shoot and shoot some more from all angles. Inserting him into a game 7 after a full month off is silly and desperate. We have to take advantage of every opportunity the Pens give us!

I would be weary of targeting Crosby, the refs will protect him and call penalties on anything questionable.
We need to stay out of the box.

Vince Mercogliano:
Gallant reiterated that he's been planning as if Crosby will play.
"We expect him to play. We addressed our team as saying, ‘He’s playing. He's in the lineup. Rakell is probably in their lineup. Jarry's probably in net.’ If they don't play, then that's fine."

Thats absolutely how they should practice. Cant ever play down to anyone, no matter what. They need to play simple, fundamental hockey, keep the feet moving and throw everything at the net. |

If the Rangers come out and play their game, it doesn't matter who the Pens ice. Stick to what got ya here and pepper the living hell out of whoever is in net. Maybe try to not give up yet another 5 on 3 also. |
