What do you think we could package to get Marner??..Start your package with Hart and this years first and go from there - hfc355
We should have offer-sheeted him when he was an RFA.
Those players are hard to come by and if you can get them you should try. |

Neither of those two assets will get your foot in the door.

I’d be blown away if the Flyers made a deal for a player or players that made a Significant difference on this team. I’ve made stated many times that I’d love to see Johnny Hockey on this team but it doesn’t mean I actually believe he’ll end up here. We’re adding cap with Couturier and Farabee’s new deals coming into play. Nobody is taking on Hayes. If we do move JvR, I don’t buy anyone taking on his full salary, unless we take on garbage in return. |

Two low cost UFAs, both age 27. Both scored 2 goals each to win game 7. Max Domi and Nick Paul. Who would you rather see play for the Flyers bottom 6 next season? |

And that's exactly what scares me. I think CF has done a fine job drafting but his FW signings and trades concern me greatly - Bob Habib
How has he done a fine job drafting? Looks like a total incomplete to me at this point. Maybe 1 full time nhl level players at this time in york |

The Flyers have plenty of bottom 6 level players. They shouldn't be going outside of the organization for that.

The Leafs have to make some changes. The Flyers don't have the assets to trade for Marner. - MJL
What changes do you think they need to make? I mean I know they will need to replace some of their aging veterans like Giordano and Spezza, but what else? They are skilled, they are fast, Campbell emerged in net so they have to resign him. But I see tweaks, not major changes. |

Personally I think they need to improve their defense. It's not so much that changes are needed. It's that the environment they're in is going to demand change.

It was a great series. Could have gone either way. The Lightning did a great close out job, befitting of a two-time defending champion. TBH, in Game 1 through 6, I thought Toronto was the better team overall.
The Maple Leafs have had some great players and a few very good teams that were capable of a Cup final/ Cup championship over the last 55 years. It's all about peaking at the right time, the matchups, and a little bit of good luck in terms of staying healthy and picking off a game or two that come down to a bounce of the puck.
That said, I am pleased by the result. Toronto is not just 18 years removed from their last playoff series win, they are now 55 years and counting from their list trip to the Stanley Cup Final (as well as their last Stanley Cup championship). Zero trips to the Cup Final since the NHL expanded from six to 12 teams. There's still an arrogance about that org, IMO. - bmeltzer
I appreciate your comment about the Leafs organization carrying a bit of arrogance but I’ve never really seen it that way…I see a solid, deep generational fan base. (My dad is 82 and still long life fan. As are most guys his age still alive). I see Montreal being the more arrogant organization. I see the Leafs as just having a huge, passionate group of fans and as in any fan base a certain % are arrogant. It’s almost like the Leafs are woven in to the fabric of society in southern Ontario. The Leafs are an institutional piece of our area. I say that as a guy who grew up here and still lives here and faced my own hurdles as a avid Flyer fan from the Stanley cup era.
I can see as someone looking in as saying they see arrogance but I compare it to the fan base of the NFL in Philly. There is no bigger team in Ontario then Toronto regardless of sport.
