John Shannon on the S&P show says it’s obvious Rutherford wants to move JT Miller. Hypotheses if another GM wants JT Miller, they have to take somebody else too.
“From the rumblings I’ve heard is that Miller’s on top of the list.”

I hope to god this doesn’t turn into the “summer of Miller”. I can barely stand the Miller contract talk now and it’s just begun. |

Well, sucks for the Penguins to lose. They were definitely the better team but got beat by a better goalie.
Opposite case for the Flames. They were the better team and weren't beat by an unreal goalie.
I finished 6-2. This round, I'm calling Panthers, Hurricanes, Avalanche and Flames.
The Oilers don't have Oettinger, so they are going to be eaten by the Flames offense that Oettinger made look so flaccid. And I think Markstrom is going to humble the Oilers offense relative to old man Quick. - micah555
The way I am looking at it is, Dallas offence was anemic, Markstrom made some saves but 20 shots a game isn’t truly testing the goalie. McDavid and Draisaitl 30 minutes a game should double the shot total.
Honestly I hate the Oilers but I just think the talent level of their offensive players are better than what Flames have. |

Who did you get wrong? The Wild series is the one that got me. It doesn't completely ruin my bracket though as I had the Avs winning this round regardless. - Load Management
For some reason, the Wild stopped playing the style that got them to the playoffs. The physical players on the Wild,Foligno Erickson-Ek and Greenway were barely noticeable.
Even the commentators made note of how that series was the least physical of all the series.
The Wild coach felt that they could beat the Blues, who had 8 or 9 20 goal scorers, by skill alone.

“Jesse Puljujarvi has obviously lost the confidence of the coaching staff.”

This summer will be no different for trade proposals.
I'd wish for Benning back if Allvin made that trade. |

Would be a real shame for him to go out that way. Feel like he should try for another cup next year even if he has to be traded.
Maybe it's selfish of me to wish that someone of his caliber wasted so much time playing for Boston |

Excellent player and should be a 1st ballot hall of fame, but ya, Boston just doesn't have it anymore.
Maybe he would like to team up with his buddy Crosby and try with the Penguins.
In regards to your edit, he at least won a Cup during his time in Boston. I can't remember who they beat but I believe the other team was full of chokers and pansies. |

Absolutely correct. I was stoked to watch that series until the 2nd game. The Wild just backed off physically. I also was pretty shocked they went with Fleury. Talbot was easily the better Goalie down the stretch plus he's signed for next season pretty cheaply. Maybe that messed with the morale in the room a bit. |

I see Garland as trade bait anyways so tell me why you don’t like Puljujarvi. I haven’t watched him at all so know very little about him. Here’s his scouting report…
The fourth player chosen in the 2016 NHL Draft returned to North America as an improved player after a stint in Finland. The talented forward is big and strong, and his two-way game and work along the boards continue to get better. He forechecks well and has grown into an effective presence in one-on-one battles. His biggest issue is offensive consistency; his skills have to translate into comparable scoring totals.
Sounds pretty good and he’s only 24. Educate me. |

I had the Blues in the Finals anyways, so I wasn't surprised by the outcome, just surprised that it was a pretty meh series, due to the Canucks style of hockey that Minnesota decided to play. |

Krejci leaving hurt badly and they haven't found another top 6 center. Haven't drafted all that well either. That line has been carrying that team for years unfortunately.
Too bad they didn't do a quick re-tool to give him another shot. |

They did try that the year they picked 3 1st rounders in a row. They got DeBrusk, Zboril and I think it was Senyshyn.

It's not that I don't like JP. I actually would want Van to trade for him.
The trade is pretty poor. An inconsistent 24 year old and a mid to late 2nd rounder for Garland. Van pretty well just paid 9th overall for him. Now he is signed to term.
Oilers would absolutely need to add. Another mid round pick this year or next or another prospect. Oilers don't even have their 2nd round pick this year unless they make the finals. |

The head scout probably should have been fired about 2 years after that draft. If he wasn't |

Funny that the 3 players taken directly after those 3, are all quality players in the league, Barzal, Connor and Chabot. |

Trade Miller for young players/picks and then bring Forsberg in to fill that role would be a move a team that wants to restock the cupboards but not take a step back would make.
Not a lot sense from a cap stand point though unless someone else is also moved. |

Seems like Pens skills and development coach Ty Hennes could be coming to the Canucks as well according to Kuz.
(Going to be an influx of people from the Pens coming to the Canucks once they're eliminated)
Really? The New Penguins. Just need 3 generational talents now. |

Not sure if some of these people are missing out on when both Allvin and Rutherford are saying they are looking around for 25 ish year-olds. Someone soon to be 28 is 3 years off of that age range. |
