Little disappointed the flyers big brother lost last night. All for anything that embarrasses the organization any further at this point.

Cant wait to see what Burke, I mean Saint Ronnie does this off season.

Thanks Bill! That 80's Flyers team was my all-time favorite team. With health they would have beaten the mighty Oilers, I have no doubts about that.

Also, I believe your analysis here is spot on:

Neither Jason nor I think that the Toronto Maple Leafs need to make any major changes this offseason in reaction to coming up just short against Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs. On the other hand, it's fair to question whether the Stanley Cup windows for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals remain open regardless of how hard-fought their respective first-round series were.

Word out of Boston is Sweeny may not be retained as GM given his contract is up and he has not been renewed at this point. If true, it probably means Cassidy will be gone also. I think it thus may make sense for the Flyers to wait a bit and see who comes available, unless of course the Flyers have made up their mind that Trotz or another coach is their guy.

Nothing better then watching Sullivan whine over everything and anything even when Pens got the calls their way the whole series. Guy acts like he is entitled to win.

whoever the flyers hire will likely be their 2nd or 3rd choice. Always the bridesmaid.

Great to see the Penguins bounced, and hoping for Carolina to whip the Rags. I'd be very happy to see Brind'amour get a cup as coach.

Regarding the 85 Semis, that is the first game that I can remember watching as a kid. My dad was a nordiques fan so we watched the game and I cheered for the nords as well. Was a bit disappointed but was impressed with Pelle. My dad said that he was at least happy that the nords had beaten the Habs (he hated the Habs). In 1987 when the Flyers played the Habs in the Semis, I cheered hard for the Flyers and even won money off my uncle (habs fans). Watching those two series and the Final cemented my place as a Flyers/Hextall fan.

My first memory of the Flyers was the cup lost to Montreal. Became a fan during that era. Most my buddies were Islanders fans back then, 1980 was tough lol. Mid 80s were my favorite teams though. Loved all those guys and their competitiveness. They always seem to play for a cup against a team on the verge of a dynasty.

It will be sad to see him be buried playing in front of nobody in NJ or Arizona. Hopefully Arizona.

I'm seeing more and more mock drafts showing the Flyers picking Joakim Kemell at 5.

Yeah does seem that way. The 80s and even the mid to late 90s teams were fantastic to watch. I had the time to devote watching every game back then and it was fun. Loved hextall lindros and Leclair on the team. Really thought they could get it done.

Don’t be surprised if Wright is not the #1 pick.

Maybe if Nemec goes at 2, then it gets really interesting. Doubt Cooley gets to 5, but the gap between Jiricek and the next Dman appears significant. Does that get SEA or AZ motivated to get motivated Jiricek?

Doting I’s and crossing T’s till we miss out on everyone and have to scrape bottom of barrel for the worst probable coach.
Why the blueprint for what they wanted in a coach wasn’t written long ago astonishes me.

Ugh, My playoff Bracket was perfect until the last 3 games. Stupid Oilers and Rangers had to win.

So much for that Pens long run Stayin Alive

If he is Chuck's guy I really hope the Flyers trade up and get him. That is what being aggressive in your rebuild is all about!

I think the Rangers beat Carolina, Tampa beats Florida. In the west its going to be really close in both series.

Oh God I hope not. I think between, Nemec, Kemmel, Jiricek, and Savoie there will be a good player available at 5.

Personally I am hoping for Nemec.

I think chuck will trade the pick to Calgary for the rights to negotiate early with Johnny G. Now that’s being aggressive in the rebuild.
