Every teams want to trade up. Not all of them will.
- deadpoulet

Gorton is known to trade up…. Bergevin was against that…

Will see how this plays out at the draft…

Jeff Petry is signed for the next 3 seasons at 6.25M per season.

There's no way Kristopher Letang, who's a much better player, won't get more than that.

Malkin has injuries issues but still remains a ppg when he does play. There are much worse players signed for much more.

They'll get more than that.

- Scabeh

… and will end up being cap anchors in their last 2 years of their contract…

Radulov is a perfect example of that…

whaaaaaaaaaat ?

Who the (frank) did that to you ?

- Xizord

there was a guy in the flyers thread who everyone knew worked for comcast and since the flyers thread is a bunch of idiots whose lives take place exclusively in the flyers thread on hockeybuzz, one of them got overly emotional about their online disagreements and called comcast to rat the guy out for being on hockeybuzz on his phone all day. and he really did get in trouble.

A guy in the oilers thread used his same username on hockeybuzz as on other social sites. One guy went and got a bunch of his info and pics from POF and posted them here. Somehow his employer found a bunch of the info out about his online stuff and he got called into HR and got put on probation lol.

Many said Petry was untradable because of his contract…. Now some want to add more of these…

Letang for $7M for 1 year would make sense if you think this will help you in some kind of transition with the young guys….

Other than that, I think it would be a huge mistake…

Better use that money to sign a younger UFA when time comes(in couple of years…)

Letang just had a 68 pts season, the most he ever had. I don't expect him to take a pay cut.

it's super important to some people to not see how bad they make themselves look on the internet while they're trying to not look bad on the internet.

He won't drop to 29th. At least I'd be very surprised if it happened.

Guy would have been most likely top 10 without the cancer diagnosis.

SNY @SNYtv

In an effort to prevent Rangers fans from entering PNC Arena, anyone outside of North Carolina has been barred from buying tickets to Round 2 games between the Rangers and Hurricanes https://on.sny.tv/rKjWulB

But they do love to leech off that revenue sharing money.

What a pathetic poverty franchise.

Well it doesn't help him.

Even if he was way more outspoken about leaving russia than Yurov.

it must suck for a lot of Russian athletes that actually aren't Putin supporters and that are against the war, I understand the logic coming from all those sports leagues making moves against them but at some point you have to wonder if it really has an impact on anything else other than the athletes themselves.

pretty much... it would be pretty naive to think that those initiatives would have any influence on Putin's government to end the war lol

well if Hughes pulls out a miracle and gets rid of Petry, Letang's salary wouldn't be such a huge issue...

Can't see mtl getting top UFAS this summer. Players know it will be a circus once again and for a while.

oh I wasn't arguing that any of that will happen, just saying the habs wouldn't need to "stay away" in that context.

this will be a long process.
Petry this summer.
Drouin and Byron at the tdl next February.
Hoffman at the tdl in 2024.
Armia at the tdl in 2025...

Yeah but with the right picks and some prospects panning out.

I think this rebuild is gonna go great.

Montreal will get cheap UFAs this year to fill in gaps, and try to clear some cap space for down the road.

I do not see them investing in anyone with a big contract - short or long-term.

(Unless it is a trade, and they get something to take on a short-term bad contract.)
