So PK eh?
Not my favorite move by any means. Is he Power's mentor, or is he 3rd pair?
Twins project 3 @ $3.8m.
Reasonable if w Power...but for 3rd pair seems expensive.
I get they need to hit the Cap floor, but I would rather see a 3rd pair guy who has a fair amount of snarl to him if they are going to spend that kind of money.

Also, go get a friggin starting G; sign him for multiple years..."blocking development" be damned...let the best man or two win the spots, trade the rest.

I don't think signing a legitimate goalie for 3-4 years is blocking any type of development. Levi is at least 3 years away at this point. A UPL/Subban combo next year gives me very little confidence. I wonder if the skaters would feel the same.

I think because portillo did not sign, you would want to lock up a decent goalie for 3-4 years

Heck yeah. KA shouldn't even flinch on signing a starter for that long. Screw UPL. If he takes the starting job from someone, so be it and that's a great problem to have.

Ya agreed.
Not my excuse, the words of the GM.

I like the Jack Campbell idea myself. I think he becomes available, as I think TML goes after MAF. Go 4 x $5.25

I read somewhere where they think TO is going to work on moving a couple salaries so they can try and work out a contract w Campbell.

But I'm definitely on that train if he hits UFA.

if the bruins move Pastrnak, would almost be a retool needed which is odd as they locked up mcavoy and lindholm

I don't see them moving him

If you go with the top 8 Eastern teams that made playoffs
Boston
Washington
Pittsburgh
Are starting to show there age

Is it enough that they don't make playoffs ?

As anderdog said, Penguins are declining. Boston will be in a soft rebuild if Bergeron is indeed done. Still have probably 4 teams at the top of the conference but the Sabres have a shot at 7 or 8 if they spend some money

https://thehockeywriters....son-player-review-gibson/

John Gibson is from Pittsburgh. Came up through the USNDP. Maybe the Sabres are on his 10-team list but who knows?

Sabres have the ammo and the cap space obviously

They don't seem to have any interest in changing the forward roster, so that means spending on defense and goaltending.

Are the Sabres really going offer Darcy Kuemper, for example, a year deal at $6.5M-$7M per?

Doesn't seem likely.

More Boychuck's seems much more likely, along with some low cost, short term options in goal and on defense.

Basically, whatever gets them to the cap floor.

6-3 final. Cozens logs good minutes every game, especially compared to other very young guys on roster. Others see his value/potential. He won’t be a 90 pt guy for us, but a very valuable 2nd line guy for years to come.

And if the Ducks ask for the 9th overall pick, and at least one additional asset like a quality prospect, your answer would be...?

With pk subban

Is joker the awnser as a top 4 ?
Or is pk coming in to fill that ?

Seems to me there would be better options as a 5-6
Grudbranson
Scheen

Subban seems to me like a guy that would want more playing time than 12-14 minutes a game

If the sabres start making the playoffs regularly
Mite be last time to fill the cupboards

Would 16 and portilo get it done ?
