for future considerations - DirtyDan
Still better than a buyout
But he also needs to be nowhere near this roster next year |

I would rather pay malkin or letang insane money to get to the cap floor then pay for a few more Boychuks - homiedclown
Your buddy 89 said that it’s not happening though

He’s tradable though imo - sbroads24
That would be great. Idk who wants a $1.8m guy who had 8 points in 58 games while doing most everything at a sub mediocre level though

I would trade him for the "Ray Sheppard" Return.

No one might want him but we could potentially take back a bigger salary of a useful player in a trade |

Oh yeah. Didn't think about pulling a reverse Taylor Hall. Either way, at $300k with actual cash savings of $600k per year on a buyout, there's every reason to still move on if they can't find a suitor via trade. Open up the roster space for a better player |

If they can't get a 7th or future considerations, couldn't they just put him on waivers and send him down to the amerks? |

I like the logic as stated. Although to me it means another move...also, if not Malkin, find another guy who can play there (easier said than done I know)
If you bring in a 1C, I assume then tha Tage's line remains in tact and is shifted down to L2, right. I mean why mess with success of that line.
Then, the remaining question is who plays on L1 with Malkin...do you also go for it by bringing in a Fiala?
I just don't see it happening this offseason...I could however see it next offseason once Adams et all have a looksie at the roster with additions of Peterka and Quinn, while giving another year to Krebs, Tage and Cozens...and to Mitts. Lots of promises in those names, but need to see them more. - IonSabres
Going to be difficult to pull that off in terms of UFA's as the list of quality UFA's is much shorter next offseason compared to this offseason, especially if the obvious 4 to 5 re-sign with their current teams, which is expected. |

I live in that area, I worked in Conklin for 5 years. My wife went to the same school district, although decades before.
Buffalo is a city, people wise, that reminds me of a larger Binghamton both cities struggled with manufacturing disappearing.
I can't say how much I have been thinking about this the past few days. It's tough to wrap my mind around that someone from my hometown area did this to a city I fell in love with because of a hockey team.
I love the Sabres, because for some odd reason, I love the city of Buffalo and to a degree, at least some of you excluding Beady naturally.
But this has been tough, certainly not as hard as the victims, their family, or that community, but it's tough.

What does the chart mean? Does it mean he's bad?
It looks like it means he's bad. |

For sure. The benefit of buying him out is that first, the cap hit for waiving him would still be about $700k at the NHL level (which is more than the buyout cap hit), and second, they could save $1.2m in real dollars by buying him out |

Well this really upsets me, because if you'll ask Jaydee Fitz born in Nineteen Seventy Seven, he'll tell you how I come here to make friends.
What's funny about this quote is that you've actually talked to me in PMs on one of my alts clearly not realizing it was me
