I don't remember the 80's, might have something to do with the booze, the drugs and 60 hour work weeks. |

Do any of these stars that previously didnt show up in these game 7's make 10 + million?
Also, I think Vasi is 2-2 in game 7's in his career. Wash scored 3 goals on him in 2018. He's only played three game 7's in the past 5 years it appears. So even looking at it from the flip side doesnt help much (unless my stats are incorrect)
The called off goal was bs, but thats just my opinion (I was drinking by the fire watching the game from an ipad while chatting, so who knows). However, it occurred somewhat early in the game, the leafs had plenty of time to do something. They didnt.
On to the Jays, the off season and summer! - Fakepartofme

I like Kerfoot, I really do.. I just think he doesn't have a role on this team.. I don't think he''s strong enough to play 3C and I don't think he's skilled enough to play on the top 2 lines.. To me, he doesn't have a defined role. At 3.5M per, can't have a tweener.. - PatC80
He's a gadget guy. If you're a cap strapped team needing to improve, you don't pay your gadget guy 3.5 million even if he does it better than most other gadget guys. You find a million dollar Blackwell type and make him your gadget guy.
I get that Kerfoot scored 50 points but were not talking about a team who's desperate for offence. Even if you replace him with 25-30 points in an energy guy who can bounce around the lineup and be proficient defensively, the money is better spent elsewhere. |

To be fair...Tampa is paying their gadget guy 5.3mil - AdamFrench
Has Palat really been anything outside of a top 6 fixture? Fair enough if he has, I would have called Ross Colton that guy this season. But also, Tampa doesn't have 40 million in 4 players up front and also 18 million over the cap something something. What's successful structure wise in TB probably doesn't transition to Toronto. |

That's the thing.. Is Kerfoot the 2LW or the 3C or is he the 4C?
That's what I mean by him not having a role.. Kerfoot does a lot of things well but at 3.5M he's not the guy they need on the roster..
I hope Blackwell stays, I like what he brings..
Move Kerfoot, Holl and Mrazek, and the frees up a lot more space

He's a 3C that can play 2nd line minutes when needs to.
It will free up space, but then you'll be looking for a Kerfoot. |

they are not in a terrible spot, cuz the extra WC spot this year. they are currently in the 3rd spot.
its just, i had hoped it would be the Jays pushing the pace, looking like the Div winners...not the just sneaking in foundering Jays
the good things is, its been a very tough schedule so far. and gets easier (feel like they can still find ways to (frank) it up)
but disappointing so far

They have a 3C and they don’t need a new Kerfoot. They need someone with some more upside to play on one of the top two lines. |

We wonder — where was Tampa’s killer instinct in 2019, when it won the Presidents’ Trophy handily but then was swept in the first round by the Columbus Blue Jackets? Jon Cooper remained the coach and the nucleus of players did not change. Tampa hasn’t lost a playoff round since." - joel878
Did TB roll out 6 seasons of futility after bowing out in round 1?
Or did they win the CUP the next year.
Big difference, no?

it should of been "higher pay day" - my bad
Leafs may only offer x amount (1.1 mil cap hit over 3 years) where team B offers more than what the Leafs could afford or be willing to pay. Say in the 1.5~2mil range over the 3 years. |

Have to think he will be gone then, I wouldn't leave 1.2 mill on the table. |
