Oh of course, if anything Bunting exceeded every expectations this year and you'd expect Hyman to be better.
My point was that Hyman was still effective playing injured last year in my book. Bunting wasn't really so maybe he shouldn't have remained out there on the first line.
Not sure who the other options were though. - Scabeh
Small sample size though, and coming into a series late after an extended absence is a tough go for anybody.
I do miss Hyman though. He would've been good in this series; need to find another one for cheap. |

Did TB roll out 6 seasons of futility after bowing out in round 1?
Or did they win the CUP the next year.
Big difference, no? - Nasty_Duck
TB missed the playoffs 4 times out of 5 after selecting their 1st and 2nd overall. Stamkos and Hedman.
Much betterer than making the playoffs and losing in the 1st round.
Not making the playoffs would have screwed the fan narrative of losing 5 straight 1st rounds though.
No idea why this got deleted. I’ll take out the “loser mentality part”. But regardless the above remains true ^ |

Depends on where you consider the start of the 6 seasons being. Perspective am I right 🤷🏻♂️ - joel878
The fun part is you get to choose. |

Stamkos was 4 of 5
Hedman was 3 of 4
Niether won a playoff game until year 5 and 6 of their careers
edit:okay the playoff one was not true I made a mistake
Anyways the point I am trying to make here is when TB drafted Stamkos and Hedman they were not a competitive team. We can't ignore those seasons simply because they didnt lose all those seasons in the 1st round. If we are looking at this statistically the Leafs are miles ahead of TB when Hedman and Stammer were Matthews and Marner's age.
Looking at TB's season by season you could make a case they had some serious ups and downs to the point that they looked like they were failing Stamkos and Hedman careers. |

I don’t think there’s anybody in here who’s not looking for the Leafs to improve next year. So, let’s talk about that. But just mocking anything doesn’t doesn’t involve blowing up the core as being nothing more than “running it back” is getting old. - Canada Cup
I can agree with that. I've made my thoughts (maybe too) clear on this point. I don't need to anymore. But yeah, they do need to get better. The goaltending is Dubas' biggest job. Who knows how that goes - but man, there are few more significant positions to fill. |

As Dylan said, “those that were out in the first round shall later be first”. He wasn’t clear on how much later |

It got deleted for exactly what you deleted out this time - stop instigating and posting that type of thing and posts don't get deleted or worse, I'm not sure why that's so hard to understand.

Stolarz and Terry for Marner - bobbyisno1
Tempting... Damn tempting. Stolli was really good this yr on a crazy silly contract.
He and Dostal together are only going to cost total about 2.5 mil...
Troy is really coming into his own.. 37 goals..
But having Mitch would be insane also.. I say yes... but hesitantly...

Same birth year.
72 games 35 goals 97 points
75 games 37 goals 67 points
year prior a 40 point difference while playing around 50 games
Mitch has accumulated 70 more points in roughly the same amount of games played in the last 2 years. Do you really think this is fair at all? I don't. |
