I'll give you guys credit. You can roll out the excuses with the best of them (ie. Dubas and Shanahan). The koolaid is strong with this group. - fifty__missions
Think you've reached the point where you're not cut out to be a Leaf fan. Don't know how else to say it.

There's definitely a few that aren't but it's easier to just enjoy the bulk of the season when the leafs do well and those guys are invisible, and write off that they crawl out of their holes after a big loss and Eeyore about it for months on end until the leafs start playing well again.

Gibson is gross. His contract is no bueno for a guy who's put up numbers as awful as his, and trust me... They are reliably awful. I don't buy the team argument, the ducks just may have played better defensive hockey than Campbell has had in front of him in Toronto. There are a lot of worse goalies on bad teams putting up better numbers... Reliably. Fitting his cap hit for a goalie that bad would be a straight up killer.
Kuemper, well if Colorado can't cash or come close to it with him, I'm not sure why we would.
Varlamov hasn't proven anything imo.
I don't hate Georgiev, I just don't see a path to acquiring him without overpaying out the ass and I don't see how he puts us further ahead than Campbell. If anything, he'd be nothing but a dice roll and a prayer that he's better than Campbell. At that point, you'd be better off saving the assets and trying to roll the dice with one of the subpar free agent goalies.
I don't think Campbell is going to steal anyone a cup, but I don't see anyone out there anywhere who raises the odds in that category. - joel878
I like Gibson. Anaheims system is very good though at all. They lock up in front but allow a lot high grade shots from high slot area. It’s tough to judge any goalie that plays on other teams. So many factors. That goes both ways however. Good elsewhere can also be terrible when they get to your team/system. Additionally, when Gibson had a purpose to play (a good team that had playoffs hope) he’s good. He’s clearly a demotivated goalie. I remember Hrudy saying that last season. That Gibson be Ducks rumblings have been going on for a bit and he just seems a bit unmotivated. Maybe not the best attitude to have but he is a legit very good nhl starter.
Varlomov is like a lit goalies with not proving much. To me Campbell proved he’s not close to being a full time stand alone starter.
Totally with Georgiev! I would pay a ‘too much’ though. It wouldn’t be an overpayment in terms of current roster players or top level prospect it would most likely be too high a pick or more than one mid prospect. At this point though - Leafs need to go for it. Now.
I love the team. I don't like seeing them mismanaged so badly. They are squandering a golden opportunity.

Nice of you to take time away from managing your second round playoff team to try to educate the peon leaf fans on hockeybuzz about how their team is "mismanaged so badly". Or is it possible that you're just like the rest of us human hockey fans and have zero basis to be consistently regurgitating this minority opinion as if its fact?

I've seen my Rangers mismanaged for many a year. And awful coaches like Vigneault been treated like he's the best ever. He was imo the main reason they lost that f'n final against LA.
For sure I can see your point, but this years Leafs team lost by a TKO against the Champs by 1 lousy goal in game7. Repeat that next year and it might be good enough for the Cup - who knows?? Tough luck...

Everything is so black and white. They lost again - end of story.
Analyze the team, sort out what’s good and what needs to be fixed and make the changes you can. The other approach seems to be kill the core because we lost a bunch of years before this too.
