On a positive note, Sway just pitched a 33 save shutout of the #1 seed Switzerland in the quarterfinals of the World's.

Sounds like a plan...hopefully Bergy throws a wrench in the works of that plan.
Even if Bergy returns, put Stud between Hall and Pasta for at least 10 games and see how it goes...if nothing promising, cut bait.
Now if you can move Stud as part of a package for a bonafide 1C/2C then go for it!

They need to do a bit of roster cleanup. And right now Studs doesn't have a value but maybe as a throw in to a trade.

And Swayman is a stud. One of the few good pics by Sweeney and company. Good for him. He is finding success. Hope he and pasta are top priority for extensions.

Going to disagree. I believe Studs got his looks early in the year and it was determined that as a center he wasn't driving play and he was more of a passenger. After the preseason, his play completely disappeared.

Having said that, sign him to a 1 year low value contract to prove it. Give him 15-20 games with the first or second line. If nothing comes of it, bury him or trade him and that will be the end of it.

He never really got an opportunity to play many in a row. Max he played was three games in any given calendar month. Playing two games a month isn't exactly a vote of confidence. He's probably also playing with different lines in each of those games. I don't necessarily think he will be a world burner but you never know. Some players take time before they stick.

I still stand by the statement that in the games he did play in he was a passenger. He wasn't noticeable, and i dont blame the coach for taking him out. He did look decent in preseason, but after that he was basically a non-factor.

If they can find a way to clean up some of the nonesense on this roster i support giving him one extended look before shipping him off somewhere else or letting him be plug that fills in for injuries.

If bergy comes back, honestly give him a look with them, or give him a look between hall and pasta. Both should give you a good indication of what you really have. If he shows nothing, give the spot to someone else who is more hungry.

Yeah he didn't show a lot. He had some flashes but i saw more out of Steen and McLaughlin. I hope those two get to fill out the 4th line next year. I also think Frederic is better than he showed. They put the reins on him and it took away from his game.

I said it before and I will say it again. If we sign kadri, immediately trade for Tom Wilson and put them all on a line. If you're gonna do something stupid, do it big.

Of course, all of this is assuming Sweeney clears some space first. Not much room at the moment for any moves

Takes the dumbest penalties at the worst times. I started off liking him but he has been very frustrating to watch.

dont worry, they have an 11 point plan, and Pasta is actively trying to bring Krejci back, who they dont have cap space for, but the important thing is they have an 11 point plan.

Sooooo...only about a month away from the draft and we still don't officially have a signed GM. Neely is THE problem with this organization. Highly unlikely, but it would not surprise me in the least if he fired Sweeney right before the draft. What the heck, getting a new GM "minutes" before the draft worked so well last time.

And now McAvoy is missing the beginning of the season. If I'm Bergeron I'm cutting bait unless Krejci signs.
