I'm not adverse to re-signing him. It's just that I wouldn't want to give him anything over 6 years, and I'd prefer 4. Obviously the longer the term the lower the cap hit. Despite his stats he's not a top 30 player in the league. - golfingsince
Close if not top 30. For us he’s in that group. 6/8.5m I do but the last 2 years idk if he’ll still be value. It’s possible but wouldn’t bet on it. 4 very good years make it good. 4/9m is up to him if term can be sold to him. Unlikely since it’s his last big contract. |

Just when Miller was finally playing for the team and not for himself at the end of the season.
Trade him.
Dallas, La, Washington, Clb, Nyr all should be interested and have the goods to get a deal done. |

Yes, NJ. I do wonder if moving up changed that plan a bit though. Boston doesn't really have much. A prospect pool that is worse than Van's. Missing quite a few picks.

What would we get for Demko / Miller.....
If the Avs lose...
send them both for a boat load....
Bryam, Newhook, 2023 and 24 1st rounders
Swap those 1st for a RH dman....
Sign kadri to replace Miller
sign a UFA goalie...there is a few decent ones... - canucksfan1944
You realize I wasn't really seriously about trading Demko, just pointing out to the poster that it is pretty obvious that if someone takes a job elsewhere, that the Canucks would lose that person, just as they would if someone were to be traded. |

Pastrnak a UFA end of next season. 30 year old vets with contracts that go on for a couple more years. 8 more years of 28 year old Lindholm.
Some decisions have been made over the past couple years. Not good ones.
Understandable ones though. |

Any trade with Boston would need a cap dump involved. It’s possible being Miller would fit in perfectly. They would have to ante up a lot though. |

Boston would have been smarter to ante up at the TDL and go for it. |

Miller isn't a good fit for Boston, unless Bergeron returns.
Again, time for them to rebuild.
Not much in the way of prospects either. |

Is it just me or is Ryan Reaves a big POS? I don’t really care who wins but I’m kind of cheering for Rod Brind’Amour and the Hurricanes because Ryan Reeves is a big POS. |
