Lol no. Stewart was a better overall player. If you are talking career as a Flyer, then yes Zack has had a better career. 18 games at limited minutes for Stew in Philly so that's why we are terrible 2 years later. - Don Nachbaur
I don’t even know how anyone asks that question. |

That's Helloo It's Me (great tune bye the way) who asked the question. He's just being a funny guy so thought I'd humor him. Plus, I stand corrected as it was 16 games for Stew, not 18. |

Wow…you think he’s funny? I think it’s sad someone could spend as much time as he does here. |

Can some organizations offer more?
Will some organizations have a coaching budget? - hello it's me 2050
Well lets look at the current options:
Dallas - veteran team with 4 forwards making over $6M per, an aging defense, shoddy goaltending and not much in the way of up and coming young players
Detroit - good young team with lots of draft capital, but may be too young for a coach like Trotz at this stage of his career
Vegas - veteran team built to win now, capped out, ton of NTC contracts, no up and coming young talent to be found and an ownership that has proven to be more than impatient with their head coaches over the past few seasons. Might be a destination for Trotz if he likes the bright lights, however Trotz does not come across that way to me
Winnipeg - definitely a team that has top end talent and is built to win now, also has good draft capital this year. Plus Trotz family lives in Winnipeg, definitely seems like a good place for Trotz to land, however he has never coached a Canadian team and had to deal with the many restriction from what has become an oppressive Canadian government.
Chicago - They're a mess IMO, highly doubt Trotz would go there
Edmonton/Florida - possibilities if they decide to not to drop the interim tag from their current coaches, but both coaches IMO should have done enough to stay at the helm.
So IMO, Winnipeg is the only current option for Trotz that I think may be better for him than the Flyers, so that means the Flyers are a serious option.

It’s not as big a part of the game as it once was….but it’s still part of the game in todays NHL , along with the attributes it brings…watching the playoffs every year you can see how having that guy or several guys willing to engage on every successful team. You don’t have to drop gloves but having that Physical, mental toughness in a lineup has always and will always be essential.
Winning is a war of attrition. - landros 2
Glad the Flyers will have all that essential physically mental toughness squared away once they re-up MacEwen, and with RR locked up for 5-years.

The answer is right there. Winnipeg can offer more in terms of roster talent and closeness to home. As far as budget, I don't think that will be relevant to the Flyers head coaching job search. |

No the answer is not right there.
I asked Who can offer more money than the flyers? I also asked do other teams have a coaching budget.
So money can absolutely be relevant if 1 team offers 4 million and another offers 7. 5 year term. That is 15 million diff. Not sure what world you live in where that isn't relevant.
The fact you think the Jets are the only better option is funny to me.
so will you be calling for Fletcher to be fired when Trotz goes elsewhere? Or will you come up with a new angle as to why Trotz wasnt a good fit or the like?

Again it’s not a black and white situation. When actual players on the team come out and say we are way to easy to play against, you don’t see that as a problem? I don’t care if it’s Mac….I’d prefer someone that can add other elements besides that.

says flyers in no hurry at all (when did the fire AV?) and could end up missing candidate. Trotz in this week allegedly. - hello it's me 2050
If Fletch gets this hiring wrong he’s as good as fired….and he knows it. The fact Trotz didn’t interview on Friday may be telling that the Flyers are not his first choice. |

I highly doubt they are his first choice. I am sure he has some interest. To what degree who knows. He will step down as GM after this season anyway imo. Unless somehow miraculously they go on a legit run.
Allegedly he will interview this week. After he visits Vegas.

Lol. All g m s are as good as fired as soon as they are hired. Their decisions definitely impact the timeline though. But agree. This year will be telling if he has another. |

I think Vegas is the type of team he could make a huge difference with. The have tons of talent. They may need to move out a couple of decent players for cap reasons, but they remain a team that’s on the cusp. Philly is not on the cusp. |

True. I can’t see him spending big on another coach and failing….and then survive….maybe more of a captain obvious statement. |

agree 100%. Though imo he waits to see what Florida does as well.
Oilers also make sense on a team he would make a huge diff on.

Yes they do. Up and down the lineup. There is no fear or intimidation factor any longer in the nhl. Those days are gone.
Most of these guys are so friendly with each other and what not. Many grew up together. Diff times. |

I wouldn’t agree with that. There still is an intimidation factor. That’s just the sport. It’s definitely not what it used to be, the change in rules and quite frankly better and more talent then there ever was. You have to be able to do more then fight or your a waste of a roster spot. |
