Buying him out.. man that handicaps the hell out of them .. At this point I don't see them having extra money to waste on buyouts.

Yes they have spent time and energy on both.. for sure on that.

They save $2.8M this year, $3M next year and costs them $1.4M the following two years. Solves some issues and creates some others.

They could also just retain some salary.

But Sandin and Lilligren is cuckoo land

Trust me I'm not advocating for that at all... Just what I think it may take to rid themselves of the mistake of the Mrazek contract.

And if Soup leaves they may have no choice but to keep him for the starter for a while and hope he gets it together again.

I've seen that on Leafs Twatter and other sites... and of Course here at HB Leaf central...

- dozerD10

Okay, let's try this a third time.

Whats the last contract with 2 years remaining at less than 4 million that required a top draft pick, high end prospect, or young roster player to 'dump'.

There's gotta be some comparable out there...

Liljegren or Sandin too be able to get rid of Mrazek. That's far and away the most ridiculous one I've heard yet. 🤣

Like I said just the ask that I think is coming ... I'm sure other GM's are fine with the Leafs having that contract, I'm just not sure the Leafs are ok with having it..

Mike - I have to ask where ... as in which universe - is Sandin's defensive game catching up to his offensive game. The singular defining characteristic of his season is how it ended... injured, replaced by Giordano, immediate Llijegren turning into a capable DEFENDER with offensive upside....

AND A COMPLETE LACK OF JAKE GARDINER-like twice a game "gaffs".

seriously, Sandin has to be the biggest trade chip the Leafs have that they can actually afford to trade without negatively impacting the roster.

improving defensive game - he doesn't have one!

I hope you're correct.. but that does seem overly optimistic.

Mrazek will return to the Leafs next season.

I read Mrazek for Troy Terry straight up could work.

That could work, because Jay Beagle does not play in the Eastern Conference

I have sneaking suspicion you are correct - I also have a sneaking suspicion that he could serving drinks on Robidas Island when it re-opens post-COVID

a lovely holiday destination... with plenty of other of visitors who used to play for the lLeafs...

or they simply put him on LITR for the season.

They won't do that.. No need to give up Lily or Sandin to rid themselves of Mrazek..
- PatC80

Agree as well. Folks said we'd need to do the same for the Ritchie trade.

Luv my Boosh.

That's a good example. Edmonton, Buffalo, Arizona, Philadelphia all may need a goalie. Hart sucks

I think Philly rusted him as Hextall didn't wanted to.
With a better D in front of him, he'll do ok as a 1b goalie.

That's very hyperbolic. He had some distinctly noticeable plays where he coughed up the puck, looked intimidated physically on a few, and (frank)ed up plays in the O-Zone. He ended up being -2 at 5v5, which was tied for worst amongst forwards, but again he led all forwards in D-Zone starts. Blackwell played in less than half the ice time and was also -2. It's not intended as a "well he's not as bad as THIS guy" type of argument 'cos those are pointless arguments, but it's noting that there were a few guys who had their challenges as well.

I absolutely expected more of him, so I'm not excusing his play - but I don't think one playoff round is a reason I give up on a player who is emerging as very useful, if the price is right.

- Monkeypunk

And what price would you say that'd be?
