I was just being a jerk. I don’t expect that a) NJ would trade the #2 pick for a player like Miller, unless they knew he was going to sign a sweetheart deal. Also Boeser isn’t getting you a #7…

Plus I agree, I’d rather get a 20-22 year old kid with a lot of potential.

- Miller for #2 overall
- Boeser for #7 overall

Sign malkin + nushkinin and run them with Podz!
Trade one of 3 first rounders for younger D that's decent
Keep the other 2 prospects....

I think Evander Kane might sign a team friendly deal in Edmonton

You are witnessing one of the greatest playoff performances by a truly generational player. 23 points in ten games, with 20 minutes to go. Unbelievable.

No…why would you sign here when you can play with McDavid.

Oilers would have to trade someone like nuge to sign him. I would though. Oilers look good in this one but the flames suck lol, can’t play wide open against the oilers.

Nug is arguably their best defensive player, that would be a mistake imo

I don't understand why he was sent off on protocol? He was perfectly fine and alert after. Sometimes you see a player on the bench and dazed and drooling and no protocol. League if fkd...

Agreed. If you sent a skater off ever time they got hit there wouldn’t be anyone to put on the ice. I get the rule, a player that just got rocked isn’t going to go into protocol willingly, but Smith got a love tap.

Edit:

Maybe he sold it a little too hard, as he has a tendency to do. Maybe it was a “if you act like you just got shot we’re going to treat you like you just got shot” situation.

I was just discussing this with my father. It's possible I guess. But if that's the case, it's serious corruption. Spotters are not refs and should have absolutely no control over anything outside of protecting the player from further injury. If it's embellishment, refs need to make the call... If spotters are manipulating what's happening on the ice, this means the league is meddling in outcomes. Embellishment is a 2 min minor... not 20 minutes removed from the game. If he doesn't drop the routine, keep giving him minors until the coach and teammates drive into his head that he's hurting the team. This really doesn't send a message of "stop selling your act" at all. It would be counterproductive and suspect... so I don't know what's up... all I know is it's like everything else in this league... inconsistent.

Markstrom weak at the most critical time.

Tanev injured when the team needs him the most.

...and people in here recently called bullpoop on these stereotypes just a week or two ago...

I don’t think it’s a factor in this instance, but all spotters have to go on is what they see. If the player goes down like he got rocked, what choice do they have but to assume the player got rocked? But like I say, not really relevant in this case. He didn’t get hit that hard and didn’t act like he did. It was strange that he got sent off.
