Cant wait for the end of season injury excuses. Everyone of them better be playing on broken femurs and dislocated shoulders. Its been a truly sad display. |

Vasi already had his sh!t series in Round One.
I wonder if they ride Vasi through tonight's game, or give Elliot a start? You want to rest Vasi, but you also don't want to give the Cats any daylight to get back in the series.

It’s not like the Panthers are really making him work. He’s made brilliant saves when needed, but it’s not like FL is taking it to them and he’s working his ass off. Vasi will get days off after they finish smacking the Cats.
This has been pretty pathetic so far. |

After the first 35 minutes of game 1, this series has been played the way Tampa wants it to be played and the style they have played the last 2 playoff years to win it all. Bolts commitment to team defense is unbelieveable. I am somewhat shocked by 1) Bolts ability to shut down opposing teams time after time, 2) their collective ability to play a defensively stout game against some powerhouse offensive teams, 3) ability to overcome injuries to key players, 4) lack of production from Panthers big guns, 5) failures by Panthers defensemen |

Vasi, IMO will play every game this year as he did the last 3 years.
Wrap-up tonight, he gets some useful rest. |

No, they're not, and I am very surprised by that. I don't know why the Cats aren't crashing the net more. Yeah, I know Tampa has some big towering d-men, but Florida has size and grit also. Hornqvist should be farting in Vasi's face every shift. I honestly expected a lot more scrambles and scrums in front of Tampa's crease. Vasi is going to stop 97% of the shots he can see and you have to take away his eyes or get scrambles, rebounds, and greasy goals. I don't see any of that.
I hate to keep harping on Giroux, but I was worried when he signed with the Panthers. I thought that was a really great add that might put them over the top. He was effective in the Caps series, but has gone AWOL against Tampa.
I never expected this without Point. If you had told me before this series that Tampa would be up 3-0 without Point, I would have accused you of meth use. I'm so confused. |

Agreed. Unless Vasi is banged up, there's no reason to start Elliot. Moose has been mostly solid this year and is a definite upgrade over McElbackup, but I wouldn't trust him over Vasi in a game of this magnitude. I fully expect the Cats to come out all guns blazing tonight to save their season.

I haven't watched much in the series but I noticed that TB, when on the PK is sitting back and not challenging Huberdeau. They are clogging the passing lanes, keeping the puck on the perimeter and getting in the shooting lanes. The issue is that Huberdeau is not even looking at the net. He has to challenge the net to create openings for other players. |
