Can't see a team wanting Armia at that price unless mtl throws a pick or two. That's too much money on the 4th line for any team.
Andersson is another story, but I'm with you with keeping him. You need a few good vets around the kids. But if they don't plan on playing him with Suzuki and Caufield, I might reconsider that. |

Oh no doubt they will need to sweeten the deal to move him. But it would still be a win

You need picks more than cap space in a rebuild, but we'll see. |

That tournament is not really important and I doubt it matters to other teams.... |

the habs are far from being a big physical team, and if you remove Anderson they become even weaker... not saying they should keep him for that reason only, but it's an important part of what he brings to the team. I see him as a perfect complement for Suzuki and Caufield, pretty sure MSL will give that line another shot.

I see. anyway if he does play really well it's still a positive thing, it can only help. who knows, perhaps a simple-minded GM will end up being seduced by his performances.. |

On a team going nowhere, unless you need to make room in the lineup, do not throw picks and prospects for someone to take Armia.
Just pay him and live with it.
Habs are not in a position to throw away picks or prospects right now.
Anderson is fine. |

If (big if) Wright makes the team in October, I would like to see someone like Anderson on his line.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the focus on clearing cap space by trading players on the last year of their contract or buying them out? Keep Byron, Drouin and whoever for one last year, trade them if it makes sense, otherwise, why mortgage the future at this point in the rebuild? It's not like Molson is losing money, even with a team at the salary cap... |

So why Gorton, Hughes and Lecavalier are there?

If they can trade contracts that do not make sense to have (now or in a year or whatever) without giving anything else away, do it or eating part of those contract > 1 year.
Otherwise, forget it.
Or even better, use their upcoming LITR to get more assets by taking on some short term/expiring bad contracts.

Admis can play with Wright for his first half year.
Armia is a cap anchor but he is a guy who will not necessarily hurt you…. Maybe not best example for a kid but as training material for the youngster… Why not…. Put another kid on that line and I think you can start with that…
Anyway, coach can change the lines 2-3 times in a game so trying to guess who will play with Wright is totally irrelevant…. First he is not selected yet and second, he is not guaranteed to make the team…
Interesting question would be: What package Habs could put on the table to get NJ 2nd overall pick? Habs picking Wright and Saflosky 1 and 2 would be very special!!!
And no, Armia is not enough… LOL
I think they would ask Ghule…. This would be very interesting debate…

Throw Gallagher on that line and let them wreck havoc.
