What's next for Bobrovsky. I think he gets shipped to Arizona where he'll never have to come up big on a big stage. - backfire

So what would you do if you were the GM was the question. I do believe Fletcher screwing up the choice has been discussed ad nauseum for awhile. - Trox88
its not about the choice per se, its about the direction and philosophy of team management....everything else is superfluous |

The explanation is this place is insane. No one wants a retread HC wants new blood new philosophies yet want CC back if he signs friendly deal after a decade of mediocrity. Can’t make it up |

I think a guy like Torts could be good for some of the younger guys who have several seasons under them like Konecny, Provorov and Sanheim. |

It’s his fault Barkov and Huberdeau didn’t produce I guess. |

Yup, team scored 3 goals in an entire series but it was the goalie. The stupidity around here is an all time high. |

G had a good playoffs, he had a great game 7 round 1. Should he have scored on Tampa, you can make a case for that but really the fault lies with the Panthers top players just not coming through at all |

I’m a big fan of what G was as a player here but this team is in need of a new era. I was hoping the new era included a new GM as well. I’m just not sure Fletch has it in him to make quality decisions going forward. I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling we’ll be right back here next year debating more moves that Fletch made and how we are still in a status quo state of being below mediocracy. I’d be fine with Trotz or Tort’s ….he’ll I don’t get all the hate for Tocchet….I mean I heard the same crap about Berube before he went on to become a coaching genius with a Stanley cup ring….that’s the thing all these guys are good coach’s…but it’s tough to find the “right” guy. |

This continued fascination with things like accountability, and other intangibles always annoys me.
Lack of talent is the biggest issue, and continuing to try to ignore the elephant in the room is nothing but stupid.
Fletcher is trying to draw milk out of a stone, and this current path is befallen with nothing but perpetual mediocrity. |

I don't see most ignoring the lack of talent, specifically top line and a top 2 D. Once you know the hand you have, all you can do is get the best you can out of that hand. Now, there can be a debate on how you find the talent and how long it should take.

Flyers need to purge the roster of pretty much all the pre Chuck players. Start from scratch.
The current group will wilt under that type of coach!!! They have had enough diff coaches. It is time to change the players. - hello it's me 2050
Isnt that what Fletcher has done so far? Most players he has moved out have been pre-Fletcher.
Gudas
Giroux
Voracek
Nolan Patrick
Myers
Hagg
raffl
Simmonds
Weal
Weise
JVR is on his way out.
I wouldnt be surprised to see Laughton moved especially if you are going with Cates\Frost\Tippett as Line 3 and Youth for line 4
That just leaves Couturier, Lindblom, Konecny, Sanheim, Provorov and Hart

disagree. They are too ingrained in the country club atmosphere.

I think the Flyers are very much ignoring it.
Or to be more specific to your point, continue to believe they can fill their biggest needs through FA/trades.
It's why it's hard for me to get truly upset, or excited about any coach. The philosophy of how to build a team is dead wrong. I am not sure how many more seasons it's going to take for Scott to understand it. |

Trotz would at least teach these guys how to properly defend in their own zone. The defensive zone for us is like Costco. Everyone running around without structure

The core still remains. Getting rid of the fringe players means little.
Add TK and Laughton to your list. No issue keeping Hart.

Not if the players do not buy in and get another coach fired.

If Konecny was more consistent. If Sanheim was more physical. If they had a hard ass to yell at them between periods.
They could beat Tampa Bay in a 7 game series.
Who believes this poop? The Players have already been turned over, and that "culture change" Chuck raved about last season worked wonders. |

So I assume you believe a complete tear down is necessary- ie trade Coots. Provy, etc. Do everything possible to get a top 3 pick next draft? Just curious.

TK had that 1 good season and got a good contract out of it. Has done nothing since he signed that contract. Been saying get rid of TK and Laughton for awhile now.
