WHAT THE (frank) - 2Real What does that comment even mean. Kind of a rude comment at a team that he played with for 15 years. It's also a dumb comment based on the fact that the Panthers would love to draw like the Flyers do, but they don't play in a hockey market. Hell, they shouldn't even be there. Perhaps Giroux should have gone to Colorado if he really wanted that silver chalice, but I guess he'll enjoy his retirement in south beach.

It's from a satirical twitter account. How many times does that need to be said?
Note that there's not a single legit media outlet has the "quote." Why? Because it wasn't said by Giroux. Ditto every other Giroux "statement" from there.
The Evil Gritty account thrives off stirring the pot and getting people to respond to it. That's all it is yet people keep responding. |

I'm blown away at people's inability to do a simple google search to fact-check these types of things. G was here for many years and never said anything classless, so why would anyone just assume he turned into a snarky pr!ck all of a sudden? |

I was just commenting on the supposed comment. Thanks! I'm not on twitter, so I don't know what is troll and not troll. I thought Giroux might have been peod at the Flyers cause he had 2 goals and 12 points in his last 29 playoff games in Philly. Whoops! |

Sad to say that there's so many others on Twitter and other social media outlets who are just as easily gullible as well.
Can't believe anyone falling for it at all. The tweet was from yesterday morning, so if there was ever one iota of truth to it, the past 2 days of Bill's blogs would have indubitably blown-up over it already. |

Are you that gullible? Apparently so. - MJL Not really gullible at all. If anything I tend to be cynical. I didn't put a lot of thought into it in actuality. That's why my comment was tempered. If I actually thought that he truly made that comment I would have responded much more vigorously. That's why I asked what does that comment even mean? Didn't seem like something that Giroux would say, but who knows these days when someone puts a mic in your face after you've had a few adult beverages. |

Apparently it was a paraphrase of something he said while at the Tampa strip club on Monday early in the AM... |

There is always such resentment towards Nolan Patrick being a bust and I understand why. I look at players that have been made available over the years and we weren’t even in on them. Colorado gave up on both Ryan O’Reilly and Matt Duchene and we probably didn’t even pick up the phone. |

But Bill, it’s on the internet so it must be true. 😂
Clearly there are a lot of gullible people out there. It doesn’t help that the fan base of the Comcast Flyers are so disgusted with what’s being sold to us lately, though. |

And what a great game last night. Colorado clearly had that killer instinct and the Blues had that “never quit” mentality to the very end. Talent is so important but so is a great team mentality, a system, an attitude, a commitment to winning. There’s a reason those two teams are where they are. It’s a complete team thing. The right management, the right coaches… that leads to talent, system, commitment and attitude on the ice. Hopefully one day the Flyers will be among those type of teams. |

Stupid question of the Day:
Would you trade Sanheim for Ottawa's 1st (7th overall)? - Glak18
Probably not because I don't know who's filling in for Sanheim in 22-23. Unless they draft his replacement at 7. |

I'm not on twitter either. You don't need a masters degree in social media trolling to understand that the quote doesn't match up with G's personality. Low hanging fruit is always the easiest to grab.

From the Hockey New this morning as to why Torts would not be a good choice for the Flyers at this time:
But the Flyers are not that team at the moment. Fletcher has next-to-no salary cap space – just $5.1 million according to CapFriendly.com – with which to improve his lineup. Meanwhile, every other team in the Metropolitan Division is likely to be better than Philadelphia next year. There is no easy path to redemption for the Flyers. It could be at least as bad before it gets better.
That’s not the scenario where Tortorella is a good choice to take over the reins. You’d rather see Fletcher take a chance on a young coach who can grow with the group. Patience will be a necessity, and that’s not what Tortorella is famous for.
I agree with this assessment, and you may recall for the past several months I have been calling for the Flyers to go get Lane Lambert, Trotz assistant coach for 13 years. However, as he often is, Lou Lamoriello was one step ahead of the Flyers and the NHL, and fired Trotz so he can keep Lambert. It would be a mistake given the current state of the Flyers to hire an older coach that wants to win now. The Flyers need to think outside the box and get a coach that can grow with their young group of players the Flyers should be icing next season. |

It was a great game. I thought when MacKinnon made that awesome end to end rush for the go ahead goal and hat trick with about 4 minutes left, that was the game. But credit St. Louis for not panicking and tying the game and then winning in OT. Even though Colorado lost the game, that 3rd period MacKinnon goal was a perfect example of how top end talent can take over a tight game and push a team over the hump. It just wasn't enough last night to knock out St. Louis. Credit Berube also, who looked so calm and confident behind the bench, it clearly rubbed off on his team. I wish the Flyers could have had Berube coach them ... Oh wait ... |

Can we all agree now that Claude Giroux is an over rated player who really destroyed the chemistry of the Florida Panthers?
No Stanley Cups
No Olympic medals of any color
Not a Hall Of Famer - penguininnevada
