Yea, and Suzuki and Romanov to the Jets for Toninato and a 7th! |

the fastest way this team can remain competitive and add some great pieces for the future would be to sign one of UFA Goalies Campbell, Kuempher, Husso this summer and then trade Helle for an absolute haul to one of Carolina, Toronto, Edmonton, or Colorado.
doing this would be playing chess while others play checkers!!!!! |

IMO this is the only one that makes some sense for both teams out of your offers. I'd do it. |

Idk, just spit balling an idea here without doing a deep dive into it all but isn't there talk that NJ is open to trading the 2nd overall pick for a player that could help them now if it works for them?
If thats true what about this...
Hellebuyck, 14th overall pick for
Blackwood, Zacha, 2nd overall pick |

I very much agree, watching these playoffs really shows how far behind the Jets are the better teams, a couple minor tweaks and a new coach won't be enough, time to rip the band-aid off and make some bold news. |

Winnipeg Jets problems in a nutshell
In the 2016-17 season all the players in 6 years that Chevy drafted on that roster
Scheifele, Ehlers Laine, Copp, Lowry, Morrissey, Trouba, Hellebuyck and Conner got a 20 game taste of NHL competition.
Now in the the last 6 years all the players that he drafted that might be on the 2022-23 roster
Perfetti, Gustafsson, Heinola and Samberg. |

This is one instance where I agree with Chevy. From my perspective Stanley is underrated. This man will become the anchor of the defensive core. Cannot wait to see what Trotz does with this horse. - TheUltimateJet
He’s already the anchor in this defensive core |

Trade for an expensive sub-.900 goalie, a 3rd liner, and move up 12 spots in the draft? Sign me right up |

Absolutely!!! And this whole notion of trading Shief and Helle would signify some long rebuild is ridiculous!!!
We can sign a UFA goalie who may or may not be as good or close to Helle next year and take advantage of someone over paying for Helle.
And bring in some great pieces in a Shiefele deal.
We really need PLD to sign long term, if he doesn’t than just trade them all!!!!

Jacob,
As You are also a Sens fan, how concerned are you about the allegations of sexual assault against the junior team that had Batherson and Formenton on it? Also, there were other significant current NHL’ers on that team.
I for one hope this doesn’t get swept under the rug. |

Blowing up the Jets Roster for a rebuild
1. Schiefele to Car for Necas, Suzuki, and Carolina 2023 1st rd
2. Hellebuyck to Det for Nedeljkovic, Berggren, 8th overall pick
3. Wheeler at 50% of Cap hit to Pit for Poulin and 2022 1st rd
4. Dillon to LA for 2022 2nd rd and 2023 3rd rd
5. Lowry and Pionk at 50% to tb for Cirelli and Cernak
And because Jacob mentioned wanting a fantasy Conner trade
6. Conner to NYI for Wahlstrom, Bolduc, Nyi 2022 and 2023 1st rd plus Bailey cap dump. - BWJumper
Fantasy, absolutely, kind of overvaluing your Jets Players ? |

Only iffy trade was the 5th one but I gave TB cap cost certainty for 3 years. 4.56 million vs a Cirelli, Cernak raise in a year to close to 9.

This was Blackwood's first season below .900 save %,
Zacha is decent, a half ppg player on the 3rd line would be something the Jets have never had ffs! Yeah move up 12 spots to 2nd OVERALL and draft Jiricek or Nemec.
Can't imagine they'd get any better than that for Helle, maybe NJ could add a little something extra Idk, personally I have zero interest in seeing Helle extended to some 5 year or longer deal for $8M or more per season when he'll be 31 years old, he just doesn't look like a goalie thats going to age well. |

Sorry but whats your point, they haven't drafted well enough since 2017?
Or haven't brought enough of their drafted players into the lineup?

Vesalainen and Stanley are misses.
Beyond that, a ton of players from those years are easily good enough to make the NHL now, but haven’t.
Realistically, we could run 44-2 as a top pairing with Heinola, Samberg, Chisholm, Kovacevic, and Gawanke making up the 3-7 spots and see large improvement overall |

Ves and Stanley aside, I'm not saying we drafted bad players, just not the types that we needed. Not sure that we have a good young goalie in the pipeline or not. Heinola and Kuzmin are smallish defencemen, we have enough of them already. Gus is a player but is same type of player as COpp/Lowry, so there should be a spot for him in 2022-23.

That.
The Jets built up a solid core in the first 6 years mostly based on missing the playoffs and getting lottery picks. Once those lottery picks started disappearing in the following 6 years Chevy's drafting has been terrible and he couldn't add to that core. |

Haven't you gotten your heart broken by Jets prospects enough times to realize the new ones are probably not that good.
Don't get me wrong I'd like to see Heinola as a Jet, but if he gets sent down to the Moose that will be 3 head coaches saying he is not good enough.
